If we are comparing avid express, which is probably the closest to final cut pro, on both platforms... Same price. In fact you get both versions when you buy it.

I'm pretty certain that the cheapest pc desktop or laptop that could run it would cost less than the cheapest mac that could run it.

yeah but its still an xpress version that still doesn't compare to final cut or the higher priced avid suites...

not to mention if you got that open along with photoshop and after effects...

on a windows p.c. your just askin' for trouble.

lets not forget the point of having a "proffesional workstation" is acctually getting some work done ;oP

anyway...

we both know we can argue about this until we are blue in the face if we wanted to from either side of the fence (mac or p.c.)...

and i'm pretty sure we both use both platforms anyway... and are pretty clear on what we both are saying.

so i think we just say scotty and george win and rest of [ rave.ca ] loves the cock?
I'm feeling warm unicorn jizz right now..

you can easy set up an avid station on a p.c.

but it cost alot more to set up than a mac does and if you use windows your software is limited.

and neo... i'm interested in knowing the specs of you cracked osx p.c. and how its running...

some ppl i know have tried this too but the system lagged like a bitch.

System ram fine, but i was stuck at 1024x768 and you could feel the lack of videocard.. :P jumping icons got choppy, but the actual programs loaded and ran fast.

It was a P4 2.8Ghz with 1GB ram and an asus mobo.
