| Last night's win was Kovtastic although I'm pretty disapointed that Latendresse got Kovalev's... or Higgins' spot in the shootout lineup. Personally I think he gets way too much hype considering he's not very talented and has barely produced this season. The guy's first goal as weak as shit and technically should've been awarded to Koivu since the puck was already on the goal line when he just barely tipped the top of the puck reassuring it went in (which I'm pretty sure it would've without his 'assist'). Granted it was the goahead goal at the time but he missed his shootout opportunity allowing us to potentially lose and didn't deserve getting the first star at all in my opinion. |

Defenition of a goal: when the puck COMPLETLY cross the goal line.
In french we call that "2e effort" it is what makes the difference between a goal (Latendresse's 1st) and a play under review wich would be decline because the goaler would have sat on the puck or because we couldn't prove without any doubt that there was a goal or somethin' like that...
So he absolutely deserves his first goal.
About his spot in the shootout lineup, again, it was totally deserved. He played a good game, lot of scoring chances, got his first NHL goal, was enthusiastic and confident... that is all the different aspects a coach consider about the present game to build his lineup. He went second in the shootout cause it's the spot with the least pressure.
It was a good game, i like the way Oilers play the game, very open with lotsa scoring chances + we got 3 fights + shootout !!
Next game on Saturday night! ...just B4 Breakin'5  |

| Whether he deserved the 2nd spot in the shootout lineup or not is debatable but the way I see it he wasted the opportunity regardless and shouldn't be in the lineup for the next 2 or 3 shootouts until he learns how not the miss the net entirely. Sykora's shot could've easily cost us the win and personaly I think there's no excuse for someone like Latendresse (who's paid over 800k) to miss the net completely on any breakaway opportunity. |
