And now, to sum up (arguing/debating/whatever you want to call it) religion with religious people in a simply yet witty cartoon strip.

humans are not born with morals or ethics. They are programmed into our heads. If a book doesn't teach us these morals, then where do they come from?

thats a stupid thing to say... where did they come from then? how do we have morals? who taught them to the 'first' person?
wtf? that makes no sense...
when you see a person who's in a lot of pain, do you not pity him of feel any compassion? thats teh source of morals... not a fuckin book!

I only feel pity and compassion because I've been brought up to feel that way. But you think that everyone feels this way? No. Because they are not programmed to feel pity.

Morals and ethics are not naturally occurring, they are given to you from a multitude of sources, including religion, your parents, the media, ect ect ect. It's a slow and gradual process that will last for your entire life.

The human mind needs to be programmed, otherwise it will just do it's autonomous duties and thats it.

i dont buy that...
sure youre the product of your environment, but you also have a choice to make what you want from it, otherwise everybody would be exactly th same... my neighbour and i would be the same person, having come from the same environment...
yeah theres lots of things that teach us morals, but theyre in us before that too, maybe not as "morals" perse, but as feelings and emotions you cant really fathom yet, being too young...
i work with children a lot, and a 2 year old cant have been programmed very much yet, i mean he can barely even speak yet, and when another baby was crying next to him, he went over and gave him his bottle to make him stop crying... tell me that that was programmed into him by someone or something... i dont think it was

The human mind is a blank state, governed only by instinct. A 2 year old baby comforting another 2 year old baby, has had two years of moral and ethical programming. You are born with instinct, not morals
