i was thinking exactly the same thing.

My friends was there and told me that 3 men jumped on the guy but weren't able to stop him cause he broke the jaw of two of these guys.
Y'a tellement de trucs bizzares qui se passent dans l'quartier. Genre 2 jour avant ça y'a un immeuble qui a bruler au complet un peu en bas de décarie..

i used to think the same way, then i realized just how crazy the idea is unless i'm armed.

if the dude savagely took out 5 people, what the fuck am i going to be able to do? it's not like i know martial arts or have extensive self-defense training. plus who knows if he's gonna pull out a knife or gun?

i know it's selfish, but i'd be reluctant to intervene.

so the alternative is let anyone run amok cause you don't want to get hurt stopping them?

It's better than getting hurt or possibly killed trying to stop them, that's for sure.

well I agree with Neoform, I would've never hesitate to become victim numero 6 a.k.a. hero and still not be able to actullay help....oh and if he happens to be bigger or "bulkier" than me, I'm all up in there.

I dunno, I think most people just panick or call the pros/cops 'cause they're just scared and well, being scared is the scariest and it's also hard to not be scared when you're already scared.....eureka, I'm a genius....I can't believe I've actualy explained this.

I dunno about you, but if *I* see some crazy motherfucker with a knife stabbing someone in the face, my first, and only, thought, would probably be "Make sure you don't piss this guy off and get the fuck away from him befor he notices you"

It's actually really easy to sit at home and talk about what you would have done if you were there. When you're there, and there's the confusion of something violent happening, it's not very clear cut and dry as to what's happening. I don't think it's fair to balme people at Snowdon for not stepping in, especially when there were a total of 5 injuries. It sounds to me like there were at least a couple of heroes who tried, and failed.

As for the other bystander incidents, Montreal is notoriously uninvolved, but that's how it is in big cities. People become a part of the background that you do not engage.

it's very easy to say a lot of things, i actually try to live by what i say however. but whatever, i'm not trying to prove anything, i just hate this 'everyman for himself' mentality.. society is based on teamwork and is needed to function.

listen ,i know the fear of violence, that feeling you get in the pit of your stomach when your about to fight or get hit. It's one of the most frantic confused feelings one can have.

80% of the people on that metro dont feel that fear to often, and when confronted with that feeling that day watching this guy beat the pulp out of 5 people that fear took the better of them and made them run.

However

20%of the people on that platform are comfortable with violence, and have felt that fear many times, and have become comfortable with it.A small portion of this 20% have zero fear, and arent scared of a mother fuckin thing, therefore i still feel that the public didnt do all they could.Waiting for the police to solve anything is an exercise in futility.

That 20% margin of people should have took a stand ,and corrected the problem with this crackhead.
