I spent 6 months in Miami( supposedly the club capital of North america) and after the WMC is over it is all about pretencious fashion shows.I have been lucky enough to travel alot and club at alot of places, but there isnt quite a place like here. |

Yeah, I heard the "bal en blanc" is supposedly one of the best parties in north america. According to who? I have no idea. |

Bal en Blanc is good but ti isn't a rave, it's a Ray Junior party, and in Montreal it is only the 3rd or 4th biggest party... cause there is Cream, and Black and Blue which are more popular. If you go to that it's basically cause you want something huge, or cause you wanna see lots of strippers. That's what I found funny about Bal en Blanc.. half of the women were strippers/escorts and half of the men were drug-dealers/pimps, managers. It's a toootally different crowd man. |

I'm not talking about my personnal taste, I'm talking about reviews I've read on the internet. By the way, Ray Junior as nothing to do with bal en blanc, it's organized by "production bal en blanc" or something like that, I don't know the exact name. |

bal en blanc is done by 514 productions...so is Cream, but that was cancelled this year...Black and Blue is really huge, but a lot of peeps have trouble due to a huge gay crowd.I flew back for Bal en Blanc last year (easter) and although I fucking hate Tiesto...Preach kicks ass with his high octane techno/funk. Too bad he left Montreal...the best talent we have seen from here in this genre since Matteo Murphy |

I've read a lot about Preach's success. It's good to hear that Montreal is exporting some talent.

Preach was a resident at Aria for quite a while, and he used to play in underground raves in Montreal. I doubt he's from Quebec city. |

you are right about preach being born in quebec city, but he lived here for quite awhile. His partner Marco G still lives in Quebec City.
Without Montreal and his Aria residencies, you can be sure that he probably would not be enjoying the success that he is now at such a young age.To be making waves in the edm community like he is doing now at 24 is crazy.Chalk that up to playing with the biggies at Aria...fuck i miss his friday night 6am to 10 sets. His beats would keep me going better than speed ever could.. |

Montreal's drum&bass crowd creates the nicest and grooviest dancefloors ! :) An understatement to say the least to criticize our crowds. The fact of the matter is that a lot of parties that occur in MTL are indeed underground "raves" and NOT held in a club. This is the main difference between Toronto and MTL. We unfortunately don't have the luxury of having something like Black & Blue being hosted in a stadium (if I am correct) but to say that we don't know how to rock a dancefloor? Ouch Until you've been to Guvernment/Koolhaus' biggest jams of the year, then you can't say sh1t. If you have been, then clearly you must have left early because it was "too packed". The regular saturday night events usually with 1 or 2 guest DJ's held in The Guvernment only are crazy as is with 3000+ bodies crammed into one room. You think they are standing around? Some other decent clubs in the Toronto area are Republik, System and Viva but there is no doubt in my mind that the crowds at Guvy/Koolhaus rival those in Ibiza. Don't take my word for it though, its not really something you can explain to someone.. you need to go experience it for yourself. My 2 Cents |

zzzzzzzzzzzz.....been there, done that, bought the t shirt....i've been to all of the above except for Viva.Rival those in Ibiza?Sacrilege!
I'm guessing you havent been to Ibiza....Guuverment=great bookings with a sterile crowd trying to look cool.Fuck Status,Fuck da fashion show, Bring da beats...I know you are into Armin man...funny thing is, guess what city he likes playing in most in Canada...it doesn't even rhyme with Toronto. |

yo i aint stating that Toronto jams are better ...just another story ...
a party's good when u create yourself a good mood at first anyways, then u can be inspired ..or not ...but u create your own reality ... Montreal rocks, no doubtz , but a jaded scene's a jaded scene, and its everywhere |

anyways, speaking for myself, yep i hate commercial events and music, and there's all this stuff i can talk hate about, but sorry i might sound like a hoe but bring me down to Ibiza with spare cash for party and i'LL HAVE A WICKED TIME ... u create your own reality, anywhere, anytime |
