try running it at 640x480 and turn the textures down to medium or less (Xbox equivalent).

At this point, it's not really a performance/graphic question. I Want native, suppoerted, MULTI-PLAYER CO-OP. They couldn't even put that on PC? There's only mods and shit that work for the game, but the levels were all re-worked with MP coop in mind for this.

native support means nothing, look at the original CounterStrike, it was a hack someguy made from Half-Life..

Now, the specs of the new Sega machine have been made public. Now this could prove to be an interesting alternative to Microsoft, to Nintendo's conservatism and Sony's " everything goes " dillettantism.

That's what I thought too !

The Software-only route is the safest one : milking their IP's ( sonic, shining force series, space harrier, afterburner, phantasy star, etc. ) is a conservative but efficient way to survive in a crowded - saturated - game market. But you know that Sega has been integrated - read : eaten alive - by Pachinko giant " Sammy " ( formerly known as American Sammy ) : now Sega has the financial freedom to get back in the hardware market. Their strategy is the same as the dreamcast : arcade hardware and home hardware are the same, same format - GDROM -, etc.

Some analysts foresee a flop. It's a wait and see.

Console versions of the arcade hardware - same as the official forthcoming console, specs wise - are available in Japan.

That`s all we need. There should just be one system, maybe two. And for sure they`re gonna flop. Almost for sure. Pretty much for sure.

The Xbox, The PS2 and Gamecube are just the tip of the iceberg. Did someone here notice the successor to the Turbografx-16, the PC-FX ? Or Capcom's console ? Fujitsu's console ? Pioneer's console ? Taito's Type-X ? Anyway, here's the info.

You have to understand that right now, Sammy * is * Sega. The same people who were in AM1, AM2 and AM3, Overworks, etc. all the famous Sega game studios have been dissolved, but the producers and designers have been redeployed but are still in the company ( most of them anyway ). The Atomiswave is Sega's newest console. Sammy and Neo-geo ( responsible for the Neo-geo console ) have built a pretty strong partnership. You'll find a lot of Neo-geo games on this console... a good thing. Since the Neo-geo is dead, all those IP's were floating around, and this console gives the company a platform on which to publish games. Sammy, Sega, Neo-geo...

Here's the link to the US Atomiswave forum, for updates on the newest games, hardware news : [ www.snkplaymoreusa.com ]

The Pioneer console was an amazing concept. It was an amp, gaming system, CD and LD player. It was modular and you could add units that played Genesis/Sega CD, SNES, TG-16/CD and 3D0..

Too bad it flopped.
