girlfriends got an acer tablet pc, can borrow! Gotta install some stuff tho,, good thing shes bringing it over tomorrow anyway.

Hey since we're on the subject of bugs..

I've on numerous occasions attempted to upload a gif image as a photo and didnt look at the extension. The page reloads as usual, but hops at about the 20% mark to done, the image count remains the same though and no warning is served up to let me know my image didnt upload and that I should only upload jpgs...

Or am I missing something? No gif conversion?

This is a professional website... Professionals don't use GIF... But yah there is no GIF support yet but I do plan to add PNG support cause I like PNG files... None of this stuff is going to be added to this version of the site... You gotta wait till summer comes and the next version comes online... It's like there is a new version every summer and then it takes the year to fixup the changes...

ah however pngs come with a background variance problem whereas gifs do not. I personall use a combonation of gif/jpg/swf for my graphical presentations, depending on their placement and content.

gifs are limited to 256colors, unless you are making interface elements for a website or making an animated image, just about no one uses them..

256 colors is fine when you only need 1-256 of em. If I need a 1 pixel white image gif works better than jpg in terms of tiling.

And hmm lesee.. [ sony.com ] sonys site is all gifs..

hey wait.. [ sgi.com ] so is sgi's..

.. and [ wired.com ] Wired's
need I go on?

nah, the navigation images, sonys logo, the top and bottom nav. those are images that do not need the incluion of more than a few colors. The main img and the rollovers a jpgs sure, I'd have madde em jpg too..
