| cable testers are fairly generic, it mostly depends on how many different types of cables a single unit can test.
behringer ct100 for xlr/trs
rapco stblox for speakon
apex act3 for XLR, RCA, TRS, DIN, MIDI and Speakon
to name a few.. expect to spend between $40 and $60 |

| you can also use a multimeter and run continuity test if you have one. |

| DIY! you built it for the type of cable you need to test! Make it universall at the beguining, ie XLR, 1/4, RCS, speakon 4 and 8, Twistlock, U-Ground, etc. And keep it in your toolbox. |
