UPCOMING VIDEO

𝐍𝐚𝐠𝐡𝐦𝐞𝐡 is the musical project of Iranian-Canadian singer/songwriter,
Naghmeh Shafiei. Her music carries stories and melodies from the people and the
places that have left a mark on her soul. Naghmeh draws inspiration from the
heartbreaks of the modern world and the whispers from the universe. From
intimate acoustic moments to thunderous crescendos, Naghmeh's sound is a
testament to the beauty found in chaos.

Undertow Brass Band (FKA What Cheer? Brigade) is a brass band from Providence,
RI, USA. We prove that great parties need no electricity.

“Thrillingly competent, with undimmable energy…an explosion of good cheer.”

- The New York Times

Since 2005, the band has been as likely to appear at community benefits as at
all-night parties, playing bars, clubs, streets, libraries, cemeteries,
weddings, bus stops, and playgrounds. We’ve played with Blondie, Dan Deacon, Man
Man, Japanther, Dengue Fever, Okkervil River, Lightning Bolt, Ninjasonik, Mika
Miko, Wolf Parade, Matt and Kim, Slavic Soul Party, Javelin, Sage Francis, and
Chain and the Gang. We’ve appeared at Lollapalooza, The Newport Folk Festival,
Aarhus Festuge (Denmark), Sziget (Hungary), and Guca (Serbia), offering mobile
moments of intense revelry.

Mubaadarat, means Initiatives in Arabic, is a non-funded grassroots collective
by and for LGBT+ people from Arabic speaking regions, who found a new home in
Canada. The collective is more than just a group; it's a lifeline for those
navigating the intersection of LGBT+ identity, cultural heritage and migration.
Through their diverse array of activities and events, they provide a space where
individuals can explore, celebrate, and express their true selves without fear
or judgment.

Mubaadarat collective was started by an LGBT+ Palestinian side by side with
other LGBT+ people from Arabic speaking regions. Current Palestinian leadership
within Mubaadarat helps the collective apply a framework throughout a
Palestinian lens. A lens that believes that programming throughout the cultural
lens is a key in the well being of mental health, physical health and overall
wellbeing. A Palestinian knowledge of the importance of the continuity of
practicing ancient cultures and languages by their own nations. An importance
that Palestinians know due to cultural genocide they faced and still facing due
to occupation of the Zionist entity. An essential ingredient in land respect and
protection from greed.

With the donations from the concert, Mubaadarat will be able to distribute the
donations among its LGBT+ Palestinians who are in need while protecting their
identity while they navigate multi layers of violence and discrimination due to
not only being LGBT+ people but also due to Zionisim.
