Artificial angel weeping synthetic tears
Shivering beneath metal wings, cruelly plucked
Cast out of urban heaven, hurled from glittering towers

Cursed by nature, landlocked in a city of angels
Gazing into the sky, watching his brethren fly

Blessed by science, soaring on metal wings
Joining her siblings in the heavens above

Their perfect features twisted into a wrathful mask
Anger flush upon their marble faces

As one they struck, the heavens darkened by violence
Golden feathers torn from steely wings by marble hands
Alabaster skin bloodied in rampant fury
Panting heavily, elysian cadre ceased
Mortified by staining ivory skin with common blood
They threw from their metropolitan palace
The remants of her grace, a testament of their wrath

Ashamed, she curled more tightly
Trying to hide the marks her defilement
Until at last a stranger appears
An old sage withered by time, sorrow and knowledge
Kneels before her weeping form

"Why do you cry, why do you feel shamed?"
"Whether earth-born or ethereal"
"One who seeks to find their true self,"
"Struggling through all ordeals, all trials and adversity"
"Is more far more deserving of reverence"
