Oh I don't mind about people slandering other people on the forums, but at least they should be correct in their assessment. They should be exploring all angles of an issue, and try to understand why and how people feel a certain way about their view. (not just politics but in general overall)

So instead of learning about the libertarian view about healthcare, and see whether it's feasible, at least in the context of a Western world.... Peeps burned him 'cause he doesn't have the same altruistic level as they do.

I'm wondering if people are willing to do this (that is to help promoters). Sure people want to help with the party, but do they want to stay 3 hours at a metro directing the crowd to location A? Then 2+ people dividing and guiding crowd to location B, then to the party.

Game of Thrones scored 9.5/10 on IMDB which is really high considering Citizen Kane has 8.6 and Casablanca 8.8. Alien 8.5...

I mentioned this show on 2 other threads. Yes it's really really really that great. Good sexual and political intrigue. Every episode has a twist at the end and you'll be like "oh shit".

^that's Libertarianism, not right wing. lol. Dynv you missed your target.

"Are libertarians conservative or liberal?"

Libertarian positions on the issues are not "left" or "right" or a combination of the two. Libertarians believe that, on every issue, you have the right to decide for yourself what's best for you and to act on that belief so long as you respect the right of other people to do the same and deal with them peacefully and honestly.

I'm not going to quote the rest, too long. Front page on link.

for example:

Basdini says:
i think we should stay out of foreign interventions even for so called good causes like democracy and human rights.

Libertarianism issue on the military:
Raising a military for national defense is a valid function of federal government, but that military must be manned with volunteers and only used as a defensive measure. Invasive, aggressive military encounters as well as nation-building campaigns are unjust.

Update » Trey wrote on Mon May 30, 2011 @ 4:07pm
EDIT: on the issue of bailouts...his opinion is similar to basic libertarianism

"Any government regulation beyond enforcing property rights and contract law is illegitimate and dangerous. Such policies either unfairly benefit one company over another or stifle the innovations that drive progress. Such unintended consequences are often worse than the problems they are drafted to correct. "

Once upon a time;

There was this party I went to, it didn't even have a name. There could have been an info-line.. not sure. We just knew where to go by word of mouth.

We ended up in a park and waited 'till someone from the organizers came and escort us to the actual party location. We went only 20 at a time (not in a big group, just 3-4 people fallowing the other 3-4, etc..), while the rest waited at the park. It was a good walk from the park. I was climbing some slippery wooden fence only to land on mud. The party was at some abandoned derelict building.

I recalled this party in particular because to take a piss, you had to navigate in total darkness, avoiding metal wires and mountain of cinder blocks. Hoping you don't fall in some hole in the floor.

Ron Paul = Jacksonian (classic Jeffersonian), Isolatist, Tea Party, Populism, Nationalism

To put it simply Jacksonian is an American political, a cultural force where the average "Joe" don't trust the truths or facts from experts or establishments. They trust their common sense more so than research or facts because of their distrust of so called "elites". They believe they can make good decisions about morals , sciences, religious, and politics. Reasoning from common sense but common sense isn't infallible...That's why topic such as Climate change have a hard time reaching out to Americans.

Or even more simple. I DON'T TRUST YOU CAUSE YOU ARE SMARTER THAN ME AND THE FACTS GOES AGAINST HOW I FEEL INSIDE.

If we have a Canadian version of Ron Paul, he would pull Canada out of NATO, U.N., peacekeeping and who knows how many other international trade and diplomatic agreements Canada has. To be an advocate of isolatism in a world of globalization and global supply chain is like burying you head in the sand and hope for the best.

SMH just because people like sport doesn't mean they are culturally impoverish or have low intelligence. The philosopher artist type laughing at the athlete is so cliche.

Konrad Lorentz:
"The team spirit inherent in all international sports gives scope to a number of truly valuable patterns of social behaviour which are essentially motivated by aggression, and which, in all probability, have evolved under the selection pressure of tribal warfare at the dawn of culture.

The noble warrior's typical virtues, such at his readiness to sacrifice himself in the service of a common cause, disciplined submission to the rank order of the group, mutual aid in the face of deadly danger ... were obviously indispensable if a small tribe of a type we have have to assume for early man was to survive in competition with others. All these virtues are still desirable in modern man, and still command our instinctive respect...

Fortunately there are other ways (apart from war) in which the above mentioned admittedly valuable virtues can be cultivated."

--------------------------------------

Anyhow, a former co-worker of mine was at Boston. After game, a bar didn't let him in 'cause he had Quebec ID. Damn, it's just one game.

EDIT: oh I do have a couple of Chomsky books, including Manufacturing Consent. I'll look up his view about sports so I can see it in its entire context, and not in a 3 min. video blitz.

The eldest son has to take care of the family after the father dies.
Strong start weak finish.

A Serbia Film (2010 Serbia, uncut version)

"An aging porn star agrees to participate in an "art film" in order to make a clean break from the business"

A disturbing film, but don't believe the hype. It's weird how people get shocked when it's on video, but they don't when it's black and white text on the news.

My Secret Life (erotica) by Anonymous ( 1888 )

This Victorian gentleman kept a journal of his sexual exploits and sexual developments. His original journals were over 4000 pages. but thanks to editors, they crunched it into a readable size novel. The guy kept it a secret and gave it to his friend in his will. his friend saw the value of a it, as in social studies, decided to publish it.

This is pure EROTICA, nothing held back on sexual details or activities. Obviously it's written in that time period English. It's interesting because it shows ummm... the hush hush sexual and social taboos during Victorian values era.
