Anyone still throwing parties remember me? If so, would anyone be interested in booking for a classic hard trance set? I'm selling off the last of my vinyl but would love to have one last go with the Lab 4, Alien Trax, Tinrib etc. If you're interested hit me up via corey dot macdonald (at) gmail dot com.

To the past/present and future! :)

Whats up!

First and foremost, we are still looking to expand our artist roster and get more and more releases out there. Our last roll call lead to 4 new releases
that are still doing well and have established some great relationships with the 8 labels we currently operate.

If you are a up and coming producer, an established producer or anything in between feel free to send us in any demo's to underground.soundz@gmail.com.

We've been operating a series of labels since 2005. Most recently having received airplay from Radio 1 to the U.S to South Africa and every in between. We also prepare promo packages which we send to circuit dj's monthly and assist with getting our artists remix work and bookings when available. We are currently looking for the following genres:

Drum n Bass/Jungle (Jump up, Nuero, Liquid, Old Skool and everything in between)

Breaks/Booty

House/Electro

Trance/Tech-Trance/Techno

Downtempo/Ambient

We currently distribute through [ junodownload.com ] [ Trackitdown.net ]

We do all in house mastering and publishing free of charge and offer all artists 100% of profits gained on their releases paid out quarterly with open books free to inspection at any time.

Hello and welcome to part one!

Link to Download: [ djmix.ca ]

DJ Lushys (aka LS1) - Histoy of Rave (Part One - 1987-1991 House/Hip-House, Italio, Detroit, Rave)
This is the first part in a neverending series of mix's I will be focusing on, The History of Rave. I'm beggining with a general overview of the scene coming out of the late 80s in North America on a more pop-culture tip, next mix we will be focsing on Acid, 1988-89 the Summer of Love and the track that started it all Phuture - Acid Traxx.
In this mix we go all over the world, from Italy to Detroit to NYC and the UK, before Hardcore, Before Trance, Before Jungle, when it was all just music to get down too, when it was all just a mystery pirate station at 1am, an underground party in a warehouse in Torontos theatre district, Cloud mixers and jacking, partying till the sun came up, went back down and come right back up again. Rave.

Starting it off, our first track was producced as a sort of musical pettiion against the British Government, because after the Summer of Love (88) the government was trying to shutdown raves, raves of 10-20,000 people every weekend, similar to what happened in Toronto on a smaller scale with with Idance, and something of which I wish we were more active with with Louise Logan.

Tracklist: (100% Vinyl, 100% Mixer from Hell)
The House Crew - All We Wanna Do Is Dance (Production House 1989, support the freedom to party campaign)
M|A|R|R|S - Pump Up The Volume ( BAD707 1987)
ALPATEK - Its Time to Pump (Techno Mix NMX260 1990)
KRUSH - Jacks Back (1987 Fun Records)
DESKEE - Kid Get Hyped (1991 Big One Records)
Double Trouble - Gimme Some More (1991 Desire Records)
The Beat Pirate - Pirate Style (1988 Stop and Go)
M.G.B - Tragic Beat (Release Your Bass Version, 1999)
Bomb The Bass - Dont Make Me Wait (Rythim King Recordings 1988)
Fun 4 Fun - Relax Your Soul (1990 Logic Records)
Quadrophonia - Quadrophonia (1990 ARS Recordings)
Blow-Out - 39 Steps (1990 Production House Records)
Blow-Out - Come on Everybody (Production House 1991)
(mix into the next track is kind of shamefull, I blame it on the mixer, you can blame it on me :)
Kevin Saunderson (Big Fun) - Inner City ( Vrigin 1988 Detroit)
The KLF - Guns of MU MU ( KLF Communications 1990)
Snap - The Power ( BMG - 1989)

I want to thank everyone for taking the time to take an interest in the music that built the foundction for current dance and club/rave music. I will be returning with mixs taking you from acid house, through the golden age of DNB, deatchant, early Rotterdam, Detroit, Chicago and more) This is just the first all round taste of 1987-1991.

A little about me and contact information:
DJing just shy of a decade, always eager to get out and drop the jams. Currently playing mostly NRG/Hard House, Trance and Electro, but will still do old skool hardocre/jungle sets and acid/hio house/early techno), played along names such as Deacon, Dominik, S4, Jorah Kai, Justrich and Phospher, Tipsy T, Luna-C, S.O.S/Paladin, OS/2 and many more. Producing since 2001 with my latest releases doing quite fine in the Jungle/DNB scene in Russia for some reason :S.

Darkstar, actually he did make it to town, but the second time he played. But you know that, you're just trying to be an asshat, which is why nobody takes you seriously anymore (or ever did?) Take the drama to private conversations, only people craving attention talk shit in threads. (and yes I see the irony in that statement)

This party is going to be off the hook, cant wait to make it in town tonight. My rigs a little fucked so Im soing to have a strange set up. Im going to have to play old skool NRG type stuff (madam zu, tinrib, alien trax)

See ya @ the show. Hardcore you know the score.

Im happy to be coming to play,

If you like Acen - Trip to the Moon, The House Kru - The THeme, old niteforce, SLammin VInyl, Congo Natty, Krome and Time, NRG - I need your lovin, Fire, Some Justice, Ready or not, Super Sharp Shooter and all the shit that made 1000s lose their mind back in the day then you wont be dissapointed when I drop me set.

Im gettin old, the days of me playin often was years and years ago in ottawa, now I have a kid, Im old, and i dont get to rock out much. So people, keep the love for the party and the hype in the thread, leave the ego's/shit talkin and arguing/drama for private messages and face to face meetups

As Noah would say, Respect your scene and it will grow, disrespect it and it will go. I've seen it go, quite a bit over the years. So lets all hope for a rockin fuckin Jam.

Peace and Love,

When I first started producin back in 2001 I didnt even have a > 1GHZ machine, actually was running 256MB of ram! lol, some of those tracks are still posted up on here cause I'm lazy and havent put anything new up on this site in years.

But, I want to jump in and offer up my opinion.

A lot of people think software > hardware, in fact some close friends of mine will argue this point till I want to slap them, lol, but in a way they are right, 99% of the time. The thing is, it all depends on you and your workflow. As a musician myself, having played in punk bands, ska bands and the likes on the side, I have a close connection with producing on something physical that I feel can be manipulated in a physical way. After having played around with some vintage moogs nothing compares to the warmth and fullness of that sound, specially after the equipment warms up and the sound changes, its amazing and inspirational to me.

But thats just ME, everyones different, the only hardware I use right now is a compressor/limiter/gate, and I dont need to use it, the only time I do is if I'm recording gutiar, or a buddy brings over some hardware (Virus, Korg Radius etc).

Software can most certainly do everything hardware can and more, on a tighter budget to boot. I have a fucked up worklow myself, I do all my sequencing and percussion/sampling through Reason and all my VSTi's are rewired through a secondary host like FL or Cubase (more often than not Cubase). I've tried to change this for so many yearss and I just cant get into it otherwise, I wish I could just buck up and use Logic 100%, but I dont feel inspired, been mastering my current workflow for so many years that I just cant shake it.

So find what works well for you, expirement, if you're serious about it and stick to it you will eventually develope your own procedures and workflow unique to everyone else.

My current set up is 2 KRK Rockit 8's, DBX 266XL compressor, 2 12's, Edirol PCR300 (everything you need), FS soun card, and my machine is Dual CPU (dual cored) @ 3.16 GHZ running 4GB of ram and a RAID 0 SCSI array. My secondary production machine is 4x 3.0ghz Xeon Processire with Hyperthreading (8 processr man) with a Hot Swappable RAID 10 (nested raid level) SCSI array. Thing is a beast, but sounds like a fucking jet engine so I rarely use it and am probably selling it, its overkill.

That being said, I just released this track and got some UK radio play/Was featured on Trackitdown and is available through TID and Juno, but I'll toss it up for free: [ 613massive.com ]

Will probably end up being my last ever DNB release as I've really moved away from Jungle/Breakbeat Hardcore/Old Skool and mostly play/produce Hard House/Hard Trance now.

This is my first ever house mix, but I expect this to be a series going for as long
as I feel like it.

Unfortunately, (and for the second time I record in a row btw) a delivery came to the door causing
me to mix late out of Gimme Gimme Gimme, but you barely notice aside from the fact that its a late mix.
I decided to just leave it as be, I mean, who cares right?

I produce on 64bit Vista,

I built a custom computer (laptop with SCSI HD, Dual CPU (with Dual Core Processors), 4 GB ram etc.

Problem was definitely getting my hardware to detect, had to custom write drivers for some stuff.

I use mostly Reason + Hardware and sometimes Cubase (for VSTi's) but I use them rarely now a days.

The only program I had trouble with was Ableton believe it or not.. its very "buggy"

Mind you, dual booting XP is fairly easy now a days.

I know I already posted this, but I'm really trying to get this out there on every board imaginable to do this service for all of us, and the future kids.

I'm trying to put together a service to the shit thats being lost every year. The history of what was once a fuckin bangin scene.

I'm trying to compile old mix's and store them permanently online for future generations to enjoy (and for us who cant find that shit anywere anymoer to also enjoy)

I just started this so I only have a few things up (S4, S0S, Dominik), but please, if you have anything send me an email and I'll give you free FTP access to upload the mix's.

If all you have is old tapes I will either buy them off you for whatever you want, or help you with a walkthrough on how to rip them to MP3 and upload them.

If you want to download whats up so far the link is [ www.613massive.com ] (this is the temp directory, I will eventually be setting a dedicated actual web page to this)

I'm currently uploading some Dominik tapes, they should be there by the end of the evening.

Anyone who is down for helping out with this project please email me @ corey.macdonald@gmail.com

I also cant post on Tribe, I forget which email to request my password and new registration is closed, if someone could kindly post this on [ Tribe.CA ] I would be very thankful.

Thanks to anyone who's contributes.

email corey.macdonald@gmail.com and we will work out a price

im fairly flexible, i just want to get rid of all these records that just take up space. I havent even owned decks since 2004.

its not that it was disabled I think it just worked by fluke temp

Im at IT to, commercial business support/networking solutions. Its frustrating cause certain individuals were doing things like selling pot and shit on msn from work etc thus leading to web messengers being disabled...

I need a work around though, I go back to university in august and have a month of night shift, this will drive me nuts.

that would be good advice if I had work, I get a call maybe once an hour for about 5 minutes, the reason its blocked is because of certain people doing things they shouldnt.

I had a work around but its not working

regardless, I dont see how it affects you in any way, I'm sure there are things you do in your life that arent quite on par with others expectations. I do my job well and have no issues, its just boring as fuck lately with the lack of work
