Thanks so much for the support Melo... I really needed that... Man, it's like a nightmare... I'm going to stop playing live until I can use something that does not crash, e.g. a dedicated hardware sequencer (= $$$)... Although I will continue to produce music... very disappointed with what happened, especially when I did everything I could to prepare properly... The real problem is that I was trying to do too much with what I had... but life goes on...

I haven't really decided what to do with it just yet. But i'm making it available to download for a limited time for those who are interested. yup, definitely, at time of writing, facebook is less invasive than myspace, although that could all change overnight... I dunno man, I think it's an odd question. Simply because I don't think they can be compared, they're like chalk and cheese when it comes to electronic music... Personally I'd have to put dubstep a million miles ahead in terms of innovation, nothing makes me happier than listening to dubstep when I'm nicely baked... BUT I think that in 10 years time, more people are probably gonna remember trance, because I think that dubstep is and always will be a fringe scene compared to trance or techno... But really for me, trance = bleurgh, it's like the worst headfuck... sorry trance lovers, just one man's opinion...

I know I've grown a little bored of it personally. The novelty has worn off. Everybody seems to be on facebook now, why? - well it's less invasive for starters. Only problem is that facebook isn't really a music promotion tool. To be quite honest, I don't really think that myspace is anymore either. It's a real shame, because I did used to enjoy connecting with other musicians when myspace was fresh and young.

But unfortunately, the powers that be chose to cash in, and myspace has become a barren wasteland of big corporations bombarding us with as many ads per second as their number crunchers deem most effective to flog their shit, and music artists so desperate to get publicity that they see nothing wrong with spamming every one of their 10,000 'friends' with the most insincere drivel imaginable. (Hasn't anybody told them that nobody cares anymore)... I've blocked more users at this point than I can possibly count.

If it's not smilies screaming at me to 'SAY SOMETHING' when I have the misfortune to leave myspace open for more than 5 minutes, It's Macy's hacking into my account and my friends accounts and sending messages about some stupid gift card.

But really, what gets to me most is the insincerity of it all. What is a myspace friend really??, except somebody that you can possibly flog your shit to... Call me a bit strange, but I really prefer people I can talk to in person...

I know, myspace is a good tool for bands etc. etc.... but does it really have to be so invasive?... it's gonna lose out in the long run as a result I think...

so, there's only one thing to do when you're not getting gigs... DIY

find some DJ's that will draw a crowd, find a venue/loft that will put it on, organise your night, invest some of your own money to set it up, play before/after/between those DJ's (considering what will be best for the night, and leaving your ego aside), promote the shit out of it, and put that shit on... if you've got some good friends who are also DJ's who want to help out and also play, even better - it's important not to let ego's get in the way though, and that your so called mates don't rip you off (that's why you have to ask real friends to help you instead of sham friends)... in the end, hopefully you'll break even, and maybe even make a few bucks... at least you'll get to play..

I agree, Hilary is a better candidate simply because she will draw more votes... not only will democrats vote for her, along with anti-republicans, but more women will also vote for her... non-whites normally vote democrat anyway, so that kind of nullifies Obama's advantage - in fact, I think a lot of Americans will refuse to vote for Obama simply because he's black - a forward thinking multi-cultural society indeed... I wouldn't be at all opposed to a clinton-obama combo... would probably do a lot of good for the world...

however, I do think that Obama would make a better president... He's smart, progressive, and liberal... Hilary does have more experience though, having been through 8 years as the first lady, she would definitely have picked up a few tricks from Bill... Fuck it, as long as the democrats win, that's all I care about... Clinton or Obama would both make good presidents...

it also marked a change in american attitudes, and was most certainly a wake up call for them, which they haven't handled well in the past five years, but I have some faith in the fact that they'll learn from their mistakes, and hopefully mature as a nation, before their society collapses completely... i've no doubt that george W bush is the worst president in the history of the USA, but who knows, if Barack Obama gets elected (and it's possible), the US will most certainly enter a new era... let's be honest, anybody other than the current leadership is going to be a big improvement...

I guess that's why it's a big day, not for the amount of people who died, but for the nature of the attack, and what that means symbolically and historically..

the two tracks that i've heard - the one about stealing records, and that 'it's the beat' track - sick beats and production, BUT the cheesiest fucking lyrics... the lyrics destroy the tracks for me, especially the 'steal some records' shit... i dunno why it annoys me, it just does.... i feel like shaking the fucking bitch and telling her to get off her ass, and get a job, and buy them... or at least sell drugs for money... support the artists anyway... stop trying to be so fucking cool and badass with your record stealing!!!!
