I have the yamaha MG10/2 and it's been really great for home use. i've never actually plugged a mic directly into the mic pre though. 80 bucks is a good deal; go for it thierry

the one weird thing is that you cannot have headphones/C-R turned up only - the master has to have volume too. so you have to shut off your amp to hear shit with only headphones. i don't know why that is..it's like the headphones channel is a post-fader send off the main volume rather than an independant channel. that's my one complaint but it's not a huge deal.
