OMFG.

Quebec city massiv is where it's at. Over 200 people showed up, most of them before 11:00pm - jumping and screaming and dancing their asses off all night long.

I have to thank Manu and his gang for an amazing effort, and a great party. Thanks to Somsay for hooking it up on this end! Manu aka Soulsonic is a wikkid DJ with an eclectic style that set the place on fire! Big ups to scratch DJ alvaro, and to the QC b-boys who showed up and did some sick breakdancing.

At midnight the Metrolium Crew took over the DJ booth. Somsay played a dope set of bombs, classics and killer remixes that people couldn't get enough of. I played next and I gotta say it again.. Those people LOVE their breaks! Dopped some bombs and phat tunes on 'em and they just kept coming back for more.. Thor finished off the night with his smooth mixing styles and dope selectiion.

I'd go back and play there without hesitation any time. The crowd was fuckin NUTS! They didn;t stop all night long.. The QC crew did some huge promo for the event and it really paid off.

Thanks again, and big ups to our local support who came down to check out this event - Lunna, Beastieboxer + his girl Julie, Chuck from Boxfresh, Alicia and whoever else i forgot to mention...

:D

Don't miss the next one!

Whoa.. AMAZING!

This was without a doubt the best event I've been to this year..

I've been to some gogod shows at Metropolis.. Daft Punk+Rabbit in the Moon, Kraftwerk.. This was yet another amazing show.

Ninja Tune have been holding it down for over 10 years with some of the best and most original beats/tunes around. Saturday Night was no exception.

Blockhead showcased his new album playing most of it live, with DJ Signify tearing it up on the cut. Too bad it was onnly a laptop and a CDJ but that was just the beginning.

They rolled our 4 TURNTABLES for Kid Koala, and he did some of the most amazing beat/riddim construction and scratching I've ever seen. He played tons of new tracks he'd never perfomraed before and we were treated to an amzing display of turnatblism. Massive respects to this guy, one of a kind..

Then Coldcut came on with their full array of hardware.. And a new MC that set the place on fiyah! (MC Juice)

WOW... After listening to their stuff for 10 years or so.. I had huge expectations - and they DELIVERED! They dropped classic tracks (Atomic Moog 3000), All time favorites like Timber, and a ton of new material from their recent album (This Island Earth, Everything is Under Control, Walk a Mile, True School feat. Roots Manuva) Those guys have been at it for a long time and they still know how to fuckin rock a party. big ups to the crazy visuals too.

Simply massiv it woz.

RESPECT.

if you want a really good phone... buy one that's not from here, ie not acvailable through any of the big service providers... My phone has a 2GB memory, a 2 megapixel camera, and takes video... it works fine with rogers network, but they don't offer it in north america.

in japan they have crazy phones with high speed internet, crazy games and tons more memory. the phones they sell here arelike 3 years old in japan...

it's so lame that most poeple get sucked into a contract and have t buy a 3 year old phone... the razr is okay but it's still very limited in camera rez and memory.

if you're on a budget you should go with a contract. if not... go to 972telecom and get yourself a real phone!

ACTUALLY...

Coldplay DID NOT credit Kraftwerk in their liner notes. At least not anywhere in the foldout I got with the CD I bought at HMV. I was really surprised. I realized a few months ago that it was a complete ripoff. But hey. Everybody rips everybody off nowadays. And the publicity that Kraftwerk gets from Coldplay's plagiarism, is probably as good for them as anything else..

Original art is better though.

but it's related to your other senses. if you cut off all the other senses and move around you get 'carsick' cause those hairs in your eras are telling your brain you're moving, but your other five sense aren't giving any input.

REVIEW!!!

The first official summer planet break party was awesome... Spacekadet treated us to a pretty funky assortment of what I call "summer breaks". Old School feel - minimalized break - hype vocals - summer atmosphere! I really enjoyed it.

Special mention here: At the end of Spacekadet's set, Deyond sneaks into the booth and drops CD - and BLAM! We got original Frogland Breaks coming over the system. Guillaume, your stuff sounded good on the system AND when you played it later on the big system at the MTLDNB launch Party. The second part of your track, the part with those stabby vocals... Damn that's some good shit man!

Next up... Chris and Jesse: Australian Breakbeat DJs who know how to crank up the energy on the dancefloor. Massive respects to the duo! Honestly their set sounded more like some of the live stuff I've heard lately from Myagi and the likes. Amazing selection and some sneaky mixing techniques. If there were more people there these guys would've had people jumpin all over the place.

Then... Hardsteppers stepped in with original material, live vocals from Kali and Reg, and the fuckin awesome mixing skills of masta selectah Sase One! I can;t wait to get a copy of their new album, it's truly awesome and these guys who have worked hard for a long time deserve some serious props. Hardsteppers are about to blow up! Album in stores soon [ www.archambeault.ca ]

Pinky was on point as usual with his consistently CRAZY fuckin scratch routines, we even had guest scratch master RAINFORCE in da place for the night, so things got pretty crazy by the end. I got to give Pinky another big ups for being such a good DJ. He's flawless, scratches like a madman, and knows exactly what record to play to light the place on FYAH!

Big ups to the Frogland Breakers. In spite of a little lack luster turnout (mostly cause of people having heat stroke or tickets to the grand prix), this event was OFF DA FUKIN' HOOK!

And then we were all off to the MTLDNB Party... Whoa what a night.

Big up Frogland Breakers!

Big ups to Mike & Cara & Corey and everyone else who lugged those cases of beer around all day Friday or Saturday.... Beer is heavy when you're not drinking it!

I had a blast. The whole thing started summer off a week early for me.

Planet Break then MTLDNB.
