haha !

LOL ! same for me...

BUT in pulp fiction it's "royal with cheese" i think ; there's also a mistake about the big mac thing : nobody ever says "LE big mac" ! just "UN big mac"...
anyway that's perhaps to highlight the fact that french people always say "THE this, THE that" when they try to speak english...

You're [over]generalizing ; there are people with or without humor anywhere. But i grant you that french humor is really different. More sarcastic/black/'pun-wise' (whenever this word exists). And often ridiculous because of the inherent vanity of an average french guy.

- How about rock band Canadian Sabbath ? Or Canadian Eyed Peas ? Or the Canadian Crows ?

- Watch out, fool, I'm a Canadian belt in kung-fu. Third Dan. Or Dave. Or sumtin...

- Need power tools ? Choose Canadian & Decker !

- If it wasn't for the canadian box, we would still have no idea why Flight 643 crashed...

- What's that movie with Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones again ? Oh yeah, Men in Canada. Another great flick is Canadian Hawk Down. Aw yeah. Great stuff. Movies to kick back and enjoy a great big can of Canadian Label.

If anyone knows how to fix this, it would be quite helpful.

It depends on which codec you're using (divx, xvid, mpeg2, mpeg4, ...) => some of them, depending on the way they've been installed, are more or less configurable. You should have a way to open the actually used codec's property page, within real alternative (i don't use it so i don't know how to).

If you don't find out how, you can use GraphEdit [ www.stokebloke.com ] or [ files.digital-digest.com ] for example). This small freeware reads any multimedia file and displays the graph of codecs which are currently being used to read this file. There you can have an easier access to the codecs' settings, provided they do exist.

Anyway if it's only brightness you can always set it directly on your screen, for the time you play the video.
