On Friday, March 31, 2006, Kapacity Entertainment proudly presents the 2006 DMC Ottawa Elimination with special guest, Grandmaster Roc Raida at Barrymore’s Music Hall.

The best DJ's in Ottawa and surrounding areas will battle for turntable supremacy in the prestigious DMC Competition. The top turntablist will advance to the 2006 Canadian DMC's to compete against the 2005 Canadian Champion and Ottawa’s own, DJ Drastik, plus all other regional qualifiers for an opportunity to represent Canada at the World Final in Paris, France IN September. For the first time ever the Canadian DMC's, Head 2 Head & Team competition will be in held in the same city. We're the lucky ones, Ottawa.

This year’s special guest is none other than 1995 World DMC Champion, Roc Raida. Raida is a founding member of one of the most prolific DJ crews in turntablism, The X-Ecutioners (formally the X-Men). With beat-juggling, body tricks and a style all his own, Raida quickly made a name for himself by battling DJ's everywhere. He started off with some impressive finishes at some of the premier DJ battles in the early 90s; first place in the 1991 "As One"; second place in the "Superman Battle"; and second place in the 1992 DMC US Finals. These wins all set the stage for his unforgettable 1995 routine when he was crowned the DMC World Champion in front of a massive London audience.

After becoming the world champ, Raida found himself traveling to places like Turkey, Singapore, the UK, Japan, Switzerland, Australia, Germany, and Canada to exhibit his skills. Over a decade later, he has not stopped amazing people worldwide with his live performances. Roc Raida has also become very well respected when he’s not performing his mind-boggling routines. The X-ecutioners have released three albums, including the first ever DJ crew full length release, X-pressions, in 1997. His scratching skills have been immortalized on wax for people like The Artifacts, Sadat X, Mad Skillz, O.C. and Big Pun. In addition to DJing, Raida has become a successful producer, released several mixtapes and DJ records.
