Hi my name is Justin i'm from Northern Minnesota, U.S. I am thinking about going to school at Recording Arts Canada in Montreal. I just wanted to see if anyone on this site has gone there or what your opinions of the school are. Any information would be much appreciated.
the link for their website is

Also what are some good things to know if I move to Montreal. I like electronic music particularly house, techno, NRG, and trance. Thank you for any comments.

Justin

There are no good audio schools in Montreal. Go to Berklee.

Berkley is kind of expensive though, also I've been to California and I'm not too fond of it.

If you quit your trance-loving ways, i might consider asking for Paul Martin to give you a scholarship...

it's damn hard to get a job in that field. i know several people who've gone through intesive audio schooling and dished out 10-20 grand, it's been a few years and they're still telemarketing n such. i went to sound school for a year but it was more of a studio apprentice-ship and was only 5 grand. it was definatly worth it, but i probably would have gotten more out of it if i had just spent the money on some fancy gear.

Actually I sort of know about how hard it is to get a job. Right now i'm a dj at a radio station getting paid 5.50 an hour, thats the pay I started at and I've been doing that for a year and a half now. I also play records, that is kind of a side project that I enjoy.

Tones if you are serious I would be interested in any information on scholarships.
