We all know there are a million injustices in the world so if you'd like to help out, even if its a small gesture and 3 minutes of your time, it could make a big differenece. Read on:

The current conditions within the Brazillian Juvenile detention system are appalling. They appointed a new prison director dedicated to investigating torture and ill-treatment who for a short time ignited hope by suspending 34 employees. Then media attacks and backlash from guards started undermining the initiatives taken. Prison officials have incited riots by withholding basic nessecities and administering prolonged lock-ups and beatings. They also illegally transfered youths to adult detention centres where they face an even greater risk of violence. Plus the educational, medical and recreational facilities needed to help reintergrate juvenile offenders that are required by Brazillian law remain inexistant.

PLEASE write polite letters expressing your concern that the FEBEM (Brazillian Juvenile Detention System) system has failed to implement the minimum standards for the treatment of children required by Brazillian law. Also express concern that FEBEM employees suspected of torture be tried under Brazils special laws required for the prosecution of torture.

They deserve a chance to integrate back into society as responcible and productive citizens but their experiences within the Detention System will only harden them....

You can address yr letters to Your Excellency @
Exmo. Sr. Governador do Estado de Sao Paulo
Sr. Geraldo Alckmin
Palacio dos Bandeirantes
Av. Morumbi 4500, Morumbi
05698-900, Sao Paulo-SP

eah, that's what I was thinking... Shit, you know the prisons are harsh, it's your goddamn fault for being a retard and getting caught. It's like, if you go to the middle east, DON'T STEAL! Fuck getting a fine, getting arrested, etc., they CHOP OFF YOUR FUCKING HAND!

Yeah, thats exactly it in muslim countries with Shariat laws. And women who cheat can get stoned to death, etc...

Its like that commercial on tv with that chick whos got BJ lips telling us in sultery voice to contribute against animal suffering. LIKE HELLO people are starving, suffering, dying in many parts of the world.. and they dedicate lots more ample advertizing space for association against cruelty to animals?

Well, that just shows where the donation money actually goes.

humans cause their own suffering and animal suffering. Humans do not deserve as much aid as animals do.

human survival is more important than animal survival.

Hell, if they're stupid enough to do something illegal and get caught, they should take responsibility for their actions, weather the punishment is "too severe" or not. They knew the consequences, they've lived there their whole lives.

Deal.

Yeah, let's let all the thugs, wiggers, drug dealers and date-rapists off easy so that they can grow up to be organised crime, gangs, hells angels, serial rapists, pedophiles, etc.

Did you think that one through all the way, Sparky?

Did you? Do you seriously think that 13 year old boys think that far ahead? They live their whole lives knowing nothing but violence, do you cure violence with violence? Or do you show them something else? A window of opportunity they never had? Maybe you ought to not think with so much hate.

If someone commits a crime, and gets away with it, then they're inclined to do it again, much like a guy cheating on his GF. If he can do it once, then why won't he do it again?

If he gets caught and "gets away" with it, then he gets the impression that it's alright to break the law, because he's got a bunch of bleeding hearts who are backing him up and saying "It's not his fault he's doing these crims, it's the environment he's in"

I'm certain everyone who's ever gotten caught stealing in the middle eastern countries has NEVER done it again, just like if a woman pulls a john bobbit on her cheating BF, he'll NEVER cheat on her ever again.

Of course, if you go EASY on them, they think it's OK to do what they did. It's psychological, in the same way as telling a kid "Don't do this". If he does it and gets caught and punished, he won't do it again. If he does it and doesn't get caught, or punnished too lightly, then he'll do it again and again for kicks. You'll find this behavior in 5 year olds, just like you will in 50 year old.

Fine then, so lets just allow the Brazillian government to ignore human rights abuses, and let PRISON GUARDS get away with murder. Literally. I like your logic Spooky, you're a clever one.

Maybe, just maybe, if people realise that going to JAIL means you are probably going to get KILLED, then people will STOP COMMITING CRIME!

Holy shit! There's a concept! PRISON AND JAIL STOPPING CRIME LIKE IT'S SUPPOSED TO! WOW! That's a first in history! Who would have thought that JAIL is going to act as a DETERENT for crime instead of being a SUMMER RETREAT for criminals to meet, mingle, and share tips and tricks on how to be a better criminal.

Yeah, that's TOTALLY the WORST thing ever. Jail doing it's job as a deterent of crime. Fuck, it's mind-blowing how OTHER countries haven't thought of this before.

Can you imagine how few robberies there would be if you got the chair for stealing something worth more than 50$, and if it was under 50$ Then you just get a hand cut off?

With all of our "civilisation" and "evolution" we've bred a society that promotes and rewards criminals, and going easy on them, no matter the age, is going to do nothing but promote and encourage it EVEN MORE.
