And these days, people have forgotten why A Clockwork Orange is good. People don't apreciate it for the right reasons, just like people can't apreciate Equilibrium for what's important. |

| Coolness: 685670 | YOU try and get people to read Farenheight 451 or Brave New World in the day of instant gratification and people being too lazy to take the time to read anything that might make them think. Would the Matrix have been as good a movie without all the gunfights and the kung-fu and all the "revolutionary" special effects? Let's just take out all the action in movies that are semi-inteligent because it doesn't belong in a thinking man's movie. Equilibrium took 2 of the best stories on humanity, combined it, and threw it into a package that would please the brainless action-movie lover crowd in an attempt to get them to think and to educate them on concepts that would blow their minds if they were inteligent enough to pick up a book.
Of course, seeing as you only like "inteligent" movies that people hype as being the best thing since sliced bread, I wouldn't expect you to understand what makes a good movie good. Do you even understand why you like Clockwork Orange? Pi? The Matrix? People told you it was an inteligent story and that it was a mindfuck. Equilibrium gets no mass public hype, so obviously it must suck. Hell, up untill Bruce Willis mentioned that he had seen a really good movie the other night, The Usual Suspects bombed at the theaters for it's first 2 weeks and then on the 3rd it's ticket sales beat the new releases of the week. *baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa* |
