WELCOME BACK NADINE!!!
this is just a note to say that after living downtown for 3 years now, i actually miss the west.
i miss the 211, i miss the overpass, i miss bhs, i miss lakeshore and driving from trish's to jess's to wal-mart to buy beads to make candy bracelets with jackie and jeff. i miss clydes and all the fartknocker lifeguards. i miss seeing the chanel-wearing housewives popping vicodin while walking their pomeranians. i miss living at home with my parents and having my mom make me breakfast before i went to school.
i sorta miss smoking copius amounts of weed with lindsay, but not that much since i must inahle about a quarter ounce of second hand smoke every week.
ok anyway i just wanted to bump this uber-cool thread. |

| i dunno....i used to live in the west too, and i i didnt really like it all that much while i was there...but now that i'm downtown i'm really starting to hate it...sure theres good things, like the fact that stuff is really close by, but theres so many negative factors: violent degenerate street people harrasing you at every corner, crazy fucking cabbies and other random stupid drivers, scores of wall-eyed halfwit morons ambling aimlessly on the street (NOT bums), horns and beeps and honks and all kinds of noise ALL THE GODDAM TIME, people getting stabbed every 2 damn days, and its dirty as shit, especially at this time of year. it's depressing. the west is relatively quiet by comparison. and its easy to find a friend nearby with a pool in the summer. and abie's smoked meat is like 15 minutes away max. at any given time (BIG bonus imho)... and a ma baie is soooo not as bad as you guys are saying. the hochelaga-maisonneuve east end-ish areas are as bad or worse..... |

| bucktown is seriously not that bad at all like josh said there's worse shit that goes down in the city. |

| I enjoy downtown for it’s shopping, museums, and everything being relatively close, but I wouldn't want to live there. I enjoy trees and grass as part of the landscape and not used as decoration. Living in DG wasn't too bad... it was pretty dingy where I was staying and parking was a bitch and a half...Meh if you live in the West and you have a car, its 20 mins downtown, boo hoo. I enjoy peace and quiet, clean streets, and hookers making house calls and not walking on corners, drug addicts staying in the confines of houses and not on the street begging for change.
I hate people, so isolation is where it’s at.
I will most definitely be glad when I leave Montreal in a few years though.
To each their own. |
