Sports fans make me fucking sick to my stomach.

lol screwhead you know nothing about becoming an athelete then.

these kids train since they were 8-10 years old. they play as much minor hockey as possible and when ur young around 13-14 it gets intense with 4-5 days a week of hockey. you gotta attend school aswell and once you hit the age where u have to have a job, keep playing hockey full time and go to school. and not to mention exercise everyday and eat healthy and lift weights for atleast 8 years of young teenage years. most of the guys in the nhl went to some preppy schools where u need to keep a really good gpa to stay with the school and with the team, these people try extremely hard something you'll never know or experience. then once in the nhl its not all about hitting a rubber stick in the net,,wtf... you gotta keep your health, cardio, muscles up to the max wich is intense training everyday almost wake up early in the morning to do this shit always. they gotta talk to news reporters all the fucking time, they have to be at practice pretty much every single day with some off days once in a while. and the company you work for make u do alot of activities for the public like example staying at some place for over 6 hours just signing autographs. or for example habs have alot of les canadiens days where they gotta go be with fans and kids for a day and hang out and shit. now back to hockey, theres intense hitting in that game u gotta take, theres a puck going 100 mph at you. most players get bruises every game.

and the average salary of the NHL is about 4.5M

nobody in the NHL makes 10M a year. Crosby and Kovalchuk make like 7-9 and theres not many of those high salarys

suck it.

Update » FRANKB wrote on Wed Apr 6, 2011 @ 6:46pm
and that thing about it being able to feed poor kids in africa...well i see it this way, were put on this earth by whoever the fuck put us here, to live, and some people are put on this earth and don't live well, and are poor, not our problem, we werent put here so we could send our money no matter how much it is to other people, MY MONEY. stop bitching about how we could save other people, listen if i was a millionaire i would ok give cash to the poor cuz i have compassion. but i don't have too and people shouldnt say shit about this. it's my fucking money and some people arnt lucky i don't have to make that my problem, im not here to feel bad for other people. im here to live, care for the people close to me, and thats about it.

and like 50% of athletes if not more have donated plenty of cash worldwide. fuck man read your facts before u talk about it.
I'm feeling jazz right now..

Anyway... T'en fais ce que t'en veux, j'ai réagi, sorry.

Sparklz probably haerd me scream from her apartment on both those goals.

I swear I must go up 20 decibels come playoff time :D

What a steal from Gomez on the second goal, that was pure robbery!

That guy earns his check in the playoffs... 61 points in 62 games, 2 cups and 11 consecutive playoff appearances, he hasn't missed em once in his career.

Here's to hoping he keeps it up!

SMH just because people like sport doesn't mean they are culturally impoverish or have low intelligence. The philosopher artist type laughing at the athlete is so cliche.

Konrad Lorentz:
"The team spirit inherent in all international sports gives scope to a number of truly valuable patterns of social behaviour which are essentially motivated by aggression, and which, in all probability, have evolved under the selection pressure of tribal warfare at the dawn of culture.

The noble warrior's typical virtues, such at his readiness to sacrifice himself in the service of a common cause, disciplined submission to the rank order of the group, mutual aid in the face of deadly danger ... were obviously indispensable if a small tribe of a type we have have to assume for early man was to survive in competition with others. All these virtues are still desirable in modern man, and still command our instinctive respect...

Fortunately there are other ways (apart from war) in which the above mentioned admittedly valuable virtues can be cultivated."

--------------------------------------

Anyhow, a former co-worker of mine was at Boston. After game, a bar didn't let him in 'cause he had Quebec ID. Damn, it's just one game.

EDIT: oh I do have a couple of Chomsky books, including Manufacturing Consent. I'll look up his view about sports so I can see it in its entire context, and not in a 3 min. video blitz.
