little sarah: yeah I agree about the hormones, it would be nice if people had organic meat (no pun intended), meat that was taken from fresh unaltered cows and chickens and pigs.

i never ate liver but i've never smelled anything so stinky... [ www...haaaawwww...eeeeeeeeiiii ]
and, um, organic meat would still have hormones and... there is a such thing as organic meat, same nasty shit... and also, milk products are a better source of protien than tofu or nuts... that will be all

no, milk products are in the same boat as meat products, any animal by-products contain the same things, and they're not the best source of protein.

compare the nutritonal value of lentils or kidney beans to that of meat and you'd be extremely surprised. lentils are the best :)

organic meat should exist but i guess it doesn't fit as nicely into the bank as big fat unhealthy miserable cows do. and i don't think "organic meat" would have as many hormones (obviously) because they wouldn't be injecting the animals with them. also to add to scott's comment: that not only should meat only be taken from "fresh unaltered" animals, but also well treated animals.

*hides* i can't be a complete hypocrite though, i admit i recently started to eat fish, (even though i know about all the horrible stuff in there too.) but the good outweighed the bad for me, so i'm still partly guilty.. :(

uuummm... as i was trying to say... milk has more protien than tofu or nuts... i never said it had more protien than meat it actually has less protien than meat, and no it does not contain the same things as meat, if it did it would have the same molecular structure as meat, it would taste like meat and look like meat... it is not meat. each kind of meat doesn't even contain the same things. and once again they do have organic meat, i saw, i went to an organic farm, they had cows and they treated them nice and then they got them drunk and killed them, i couldn't tell you where to buy organic meat but i can tell you it exists

loblaws sells organic meat. but then you're supporting loblaws. it's all about choises.

organic meat is much healthier for you. For one organic cows are not fed other animals, like most others. Now this wouldn't be such a big deal, but the discovery of "mad cow" disease has shown us the dangers of cannabilism in animals. Even though mad cow is not in canada for say, it has a ten year incubation period which means we could be on the verge of a breakout at any point.

as for me, i stay away from meat for intirely personnal reasons.

it DOES contain the same thing as meat, even if it's not the same molecular stucture it's still the same thing, (look into it, you'll see.) because it's still from the animal that was fed the same things, it's still full of hormones and fat.
milk might have more protein than tofu and nuts, but the bad things in milk outweigh the good, you're better off getting a better source of more natural protein from tofu, milk or beans (even if you have you have to eat more, it's still better for you.)

i dont think milk has much protein in it aother than calcimum which is still minimal in milk.... id have to say milk is probably worse for you then most things...and even then you can go to the extent in saying it doesnt matter weither a cow or any animal is grown organic or not because you still have to feed it which grain and what not that can go to better uses....my theory is we kill all the cows and pigs till they go extict... i dont think we really need them, they are pretty fuckin ugly too( like compare a tiger to a cow... id rather look at a tiger in the wild then some stinky fat cow that makes me want to run up to it and knock it over) so anyhow...thats my say on this

yeah, I just ate a bowl full of hamburger meat.. :P
I think everyone should look at people who eat stuff like lentils all the time. See how unhealthy they are in india? Pakistan? They can't aford food like we have so they eat all those grains and stuff and look at how bad off they are. I'd rather be full of hormones and all that fake shit than eat beans and grain and be unhealthy. Though I'll admit, I'd much rather be eating boar or uhmm... bison is the french word, I think it's the same in english.. and sushi, than hamburgers and pizza.

"look at people who eat stuff like lentils all the time"... yeah? so what's wrong with me?

and for pat: seeing as animals are just ugly (well the ones people eat) should we have all the ugly people butchered for meat too? that's not such a great plan- and even then- cows and pigs don't need to be fed the amounts of grain they're fed- they only are because they want them to grow fatter more quickly, and there wouldn't be as many of them to feed all that grain if they didn't artificially inseminate them... so bottom line, they should put an end to factory farming (but maybe not all farming, because the people who want to eat meat will anyways, so it might as well be done right.)

and for kafwin, the nitrates used to preserve smoked meat are illegal in the states because of they've been directly linked to cancer (which is why they have "corned beef" and not "smoked meat") so just fink about that next time. you mite not care now, but think about later on in life. i sound like a mommy ;)
