Whoa, alright...so a friend of mine who's into wierd leftfield hip hop shit apparently just got fifteen plates cut of one of his own tracks for 150$ at some place local. He got a deal because apparently there were some plates that the guy fucked up a little bit...but still....10$ or so a plate? Not too bad. I'll see if I can get more info.
I'm feeling focused right now..

here's a video of a big clash from 2006

this is David Rodigan... legendary selector from England, where he's been pushing reggae music in since the 70s. .

I have so much respect for this dude - he's often imitated, but there isn't really anyone else who's done what he has

he's really unique, because he's this old very polite English guy, but he goes and clashes the established champion sounds in Jamaica - and actually wins the trophy!

white people aren't exactly well-liked in the ghettos of Kingston - least of all the English.. but he has done so much to promote reggae music in England over the decades that they recognize and give him respect.

the guy has crazy rare dubs that other sounds cant play. since selection is so important, that can sometimes be enuff to win the clash, even when the other sound obviously has a much fiercer stage presence

there are wayyy better clashes with Rodigan where he plays really nice foundation dubs that he cut in the 70s, but this is good too and fairly recent.. I notice they are using some digital gear in the clash here. i guess even these huge sounds dont always cut acetates anymore.

errr... I mean they were obvously cut to acetate, but at this clash they are just are playing the digital masters
