Firstly I have to thank my partners in crime, Jason and Hugo, without you both we never would have pulled this off, mad love for both of you. Also thanks so much to our staff that worked their butts off to ensure everything ran smoothly and everybody had a great time. Wouldn't have been able to do it without you. THANK-YOU to all the dj's that killed it all night long! Been a while since I've seen people tearing up the dance-floor to the very last minute. And last, but definitely not least, a big big big thank you to everybody that came. I was on cloud 9 all night long seeing all the smiling faces and dancing bodies. Distance really doesn't bother you hehe you brough people from Ottawa, Quebec and Toronto. I lovez you :) Batz, the flyer was really THE SHIT thanks again for not losing your shit after having us making modifications every five minutes <3 Taz, thanks again for the walkie talkies, this was the best idea ever!! Pomme and Le D, thanks again for the help, it was really appreciated. All the djs where FRIGGIN AMAZING! Thank you sooo much.  Coolness: 56560 | Wow, definitely a night I will never forget. So many people came together to make this a first-rate event that it's difficult to even know where to begin; that being said, I'm gonna go for it anyways.
First, I owe immense gratitude to Sam and Hugo, you guys are both spectacular individuals and I couldn't be more proud to be working with you. You have shown what incredible things can be accomplished with nothing more than idea, a little blood, sweat and tears and love for the music and the people. Tuezdae, where do I start? Your help with everything from promotion to staffing our night was essential. You saved me so many headaches. Mad props to someone who shaves off an eyebrow to dress up for a night. Thanks to Andre at Psychonaut for selling tickets and countless pieces of advice, connections and hookups in general. Without you, this event would have never gotten off the ground. Thank you Noah for all the free promo on [ rave.ca ] Props to D-amp for bringing the noise. Big-ups Rob on the graphic design, seriously wicked shit. Nat, the costumes were awesome, merci. Big thanks to our staff (Caro, Mark, Jassou, Rosa, and Pat). Thanks to Boutchoo for picking up our glowsticks in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu. Shannon, thanks for making sure we have tonnes of great photos and making this night unforgettable. Thank you Taz for the radios, they certainly came in handy. Bravo to all our DJ's for showing everyone what world-class artists we have in Montreal and Ottawa. Too bad I missed out on most of the music, my presence was required at the door for most of the night :-(. Thanks to GRIP and Lita for your kiosks. And finally, thank you to all the ravers that came from near and far (as far as L.A.!!!!) to dance their asses off. I've never been more happy to see all the smiling faces on the dance floor. You guys really are our inspiration for all this, and you definitely can't have a rave without ravers :-P To anyone I've forgotten, I'm sorry, and thank you. This event was only a taste of what the Black & White crew has in store for the future, we've got big plans that involve even bigger sound. Stay tuned, you won't be disappointed. i wont go too far in details around that situation, but i'm not gonna lie, that venue owner has been a first-class dickwad and had me forfeit my set after only 25 min into it in order to close the hardcore room... needless to say that i was quite unimpressed about the power-trip he was having at the time. but oh well, there was not much that could have been done, he had clearly made his mind and i didn't want to make a huge deal over it on my end. to keep arguing with him would've only aggravated the situation. i cannot blame the Black & White Crew in regards to that situation, you guys have done, in fact an amazing job at putting this event together and that deserves some props! Loved the underground style venue. Security was really tight which was a nice surprise. All the DJs I heard rocked it. Big ups to Sunstorm, Matricks, Deadfunk and Smartyz! Nice to see so much hardcore talent at a single party. I had a wicked time playing. The DJ booth was nicely set-up which is always nice to see. I was glad to see some of my new productions went down really well - hopefully the set recordings turn out. Speaking of which - can whoever recorded my set send it to me? I'd love to hear it. |

 Coolness: 153030 | This was by far one of the best parties I've went to in a recent while! Black & White has assured us that Montreal will have a steady supply of quality and diversified events for quite some time (hopefully!).
As for the security, yes some people might say she (and in fact, maybe only she) was a little too hardcore. Yet, these people assured the continuity of the party by preventing the shutdown of the party when the police came. By preventing minor issues such as noise complaints (DJs, we all know we like to kick things up a notch sometimes after a transition or two heh), blatant drug use and doing their job, the cops had no reason to come back and shut the party down - which, no matter how you see it, is a good thing. But like I've always said, after an event people will always find something to point with a finger. Mind you that isn't a bad thing. Track of the night that blessed my ears was played by Dainja (btw, it was awesome seeing you Ottawa peeps): Reese's (pieces) remix of Entity's Stargazer. Thanks! :) All DJs were on top of their game and managed to bring the roof down on them next gen ravers. That being said, I think B&W are evolving at a lightning speed. Even if they are still a young team, they are a fantastic, very promising, dedicated, hard working and most importantly; enjoy what they're doing! I wish you guys a lot of success... |
