I have zero pictures of me and Antonio, but also zero drama, zero real interaction. I just said "I don't really want to be photographed with the ubiquitous douchebag" and managed to steer clear. Everyone else I know has been photographed, filmed, otherwise documented. All you have to do is keep a low profile and be at parties he's not at. Easy.
As for the film I think it's brilliant. For once everyone in the world can see what shitty people a lot of these drug retarded kids actually are, especially Mark and Steph. Sorry, but I lol'd so hard at the scenes in the loft, and the scenes at Noah's house party, where we had to kick out a total freak (not Antonio though, and I STILL avoided photography) who had done PCP and Acid and a bunch of other shit he couldn't handle. Particularly Mark being a heatscore and yelling "who wants drugs" with the FUCKING DOOR WIDE OPEN. Anyway... I feel like if your being documented is to your detriment, then you are likely on the wrong path. Throw one camera around a half decent party and you have better footage than anything in that movie. Just goes to show that the parties available for lolita-hunters to attend are not all that great. Date a girl your age, obsess about her instead, Tony. And damn it get some new glasses. |

Unless she took tracks from friends who gave her the permission to use it for the movie or whatever, she had to take tracks that she bought. The artist has not necceserly agreed since that there's always chances that he hasn't been informed. Since it's a commercial use of the tracks, these guys need to pay a liscence for each tracks played. (that's why usually Film producer engage some Music producer to do the original composition of the movie, it's cheaper!) |

It would cost someone way more to go to court over this then what anyone would get out of it which would be nothing in the end since no money is being made.
People don't follow the rules all the time. We download movies, we download music, we copy books in school... Stop worrying about what other people are copying since people do it all the time. You talk as if you've never done any of these things when we all know everyone has... Fuck paying licenses, if you're really that concerned, it's just as easy to release the movie in a location that does not have these rules (not everyone lives in America, where people live off suing each other) and everything would be just fine... Personally I like Japan's ideas... Everyone can copy everything and make it better... There are no crazy copyright laws and that's why thing progress so fast there most of the time since everyone is striving to make things better. Last I heard no one was making money from the POLA movie. You can't claim money when there is no money in the pile to be made... And even if you tried, it would be a full time job, many years in court, for you and many other people in order to get NOTHING! |

but it not always like that, there are cases that went to court, and won, example, the gilbert duclos case, the dud took a picture of a 17 yo girl who was on the stairs of something on st-cath, without her auth. he published that picture in a magasine that didnt even sold 800 copies. she sued him, she won. [ www.lussierkhouzam.com ] its not for the money noah, its for the "principe". look at the trailer of the movie, you see that hippie dude who's too high on ketamine or something, saying that hes god and all. and after that you will see talented artists, in the same movie, and the movie is about the rave scene. but do any artists want to be related to that guy? no, that movie, not how its presented. it could ruin someones carreer if its shown out of its context. it makes EVERYONE look like a bunch of stupid drug addict retard. if the movie was about the rave scene, showing nice people, having something to say, then it would be another story. but antonio made sure to choose only the people that looked the most retarded. and yes, antonio needs to pay liscences for every tracks me puts in his film, and pixie (or antonio) will have to pay the socan/sodrac for the track played. and he still need a written auth from everyone in that movie. maybe there wouldnt be money to be made over a suing, but for the principe, you dont have any idea how far can people go. |
