Coolness: 105820	Skate shoes are not made to jog, they don't reduce impacts properly and the sole is too flat, which could cause awful pain. Basketball shoes do for running though, since this sport is all about running and jumping shoes have to be made to absorb shocks.

Not exactly true, though yes skate shoes are really bad, more because the sole isn't flexible. Impact reduction is NOT something you want in shoes; the padding does NOT reduce/absorb impact, it merely cushions your feet so that the impact doesn't hurt them, but it stil destroys your knees. Shoes with "support" are the worst thing you can get.. your feet's bones and muscles need to move and also need exercise, unless you want problems with your feet, and "running" shoes are totally the worst thing for that.
