Lynzyn and Bliss do not need to be insulted because they do a fine job making themselves look bad. So what I got out of this thread is that the Stereo fire was caused by hip-hoppers hired by Circus to take out the competition. What drugs are you guys doing? Nothing I've done in the last 12 years has ever made me that flaky. Did anyone ever consider the Hells or the Mafia in this business? Considering that on a professional level these are the main organized crime units that would have the gall to do this sort of thing to reopening businesses? I mean, I have no proof for that either but it's as viable at least as thinking it was Crips or Bloods or whatever extension of blaming hip-hop culture, thinly veiled racist remark suggesting that usual fear of a black hat that has been spewing out of people forever on here. Yes, plenty of rap and hip hop has violent content, yadda yadda, but so does metal, hardcore, rock and roll, fuck, even country (I have made this argument before). I personally blame ravers. I've seen way more violence at raves throughout my lifetime than any other place so I think that it's high time we own up to the fact that we invite a criminal element by being illegal ourselves, by being drug-using and condoning (or at least being tolerant of) use / abuse, by fighting city bylaws against excessive noise, by squatting warehouses or other venues, by accepting an "underground" culture open to anybody interested. I have seen more drug-related violence and violence by bouncers at raves than at any other event, seen more guns and heard about more on-site rape than at any other sort of event, and known firsthand about heavy criminal involvement by promoters and nightlife in this arena. Crystal meth brought a lot of that with it, and no, that wasn't some crazy rap phenomenon. I saw my fair share of sketchy little skinny kids in the rave scene who did a ton of sick and twisted things to their enemies and friends out of a need for ego-fulfillment and severe cocaine or amphetamine psychosis. I'm sure most of you spring chickens of the "since" haven't experienced Taz parties with the Riders barking down your back every time you even consider doing your own supply that you brought from out of town. But it happened, and it was rough. Don't lie about it for god's sakes. The people who own Montreal's nightlife have far worse things to worry about than a couple of hoodie-wearing stoners who carry guns to look cool. This entire island is run by organized crime. Get over your ignorant drug-addled opinions and read some books. You'll find that it's actually business as usual. Now I've said my two cents, I expect the usual sort of vindictive and confrontational responses from the two brainiacs that I mentioned above, heaven forbid that either of them would look stupid on the internet. |
