if i had the storage space, i would get wavs too, but already as it is, 17mb files add up quick.
i have faith in 320kbps mp3's.

I've even accidentally played 128's of stuff i made, and no one left the dancefloor...hehe, but i'm a lil more careful now!

anywho, what other sites do people download from? I'm sure there's tons in the UK n whatnot that come out with crazy shit...
I'm feeling like ezbake right now..

as i seem to understand it must take less time to receive
royalties compared to vynils,i remember people like
robert de la gauthier having to wait 2 years to get there money
even if it was his record label distributed by a biiger label!

How much of that $20 goes to the artist? like $0.50?
I'm feeling almighty right now..

I also buy vinyl when I have the money, they cost me around 14$ for a single 12" depending on the exchange rate with the UK.

and no I don't share my wavs or mp3s or wtv

Seriously I dont think the artist make more when you pay for an extra wav handling fee... you're paying the distributor for their bandwith... wtv, I'm not gonna go to a site that sells the same tunes for double the price
I'm feeling lovely right now..

we are getting into symantics here, I think all murdock was trying to say was that 3.50 or wutever is still much cheaper than records ever were...

and I think we can all agree the the artist has been fucked for years, nothing new there, whether releasing vinyl or cassette or frikin reel2reel.... wtv, at least with digital releases, supposedly artists have more control and the market has a wider share//// supposedly.... indipendant release, it takes a lot of effort, but can be pretty great in the end...

Ufot-sony says a limo eh?

id be curious to know how much the artist make for vinyl sale vs. mp3... think about it though, vinyl mastering, test presses, making masters, distrubution, shipping... all of this costs a shitload of money... not to mention big risks

It's just a way for beatport to make more money.. WAVs are about 5x bigger than the mp3s and bandwidth/disk space on servers does noooot come close to costing that much.
