ticket number means nothing... you can ask for the first ticket to have number 800 and then start counting up from there... meaning ticket 1013 would be 213 really...

Yes, but when you are told that the pre-sale is near exhausted by the people selling tickets and there are 1500 people confirmed on facebook, and then you see the line ups and what not at ELEVEN PM, it's a pretty good indication.

Had I known anything about the capacity of this club I would have seen what the deal is and would not have gone anywhere near this. It's too bad that I have never been to Coda before this.

Also V2.0: Just because people have done this before does not excuse it. It's a practice that needs to end and promoters who use it need to be punished and run out of business. I will vote with my wallet and my voice and ensure to never go near any event at this place again and I will tell everyone I know the same. In an industry that depends so much on word of mouth, hopefully this extracts some penance.

Strik_IX : Don't make me remind you why you are still single and I'm engaged, bitch. LOL ! :D

Btw, it's kinda hard for me to go out on thursdays. Last few times I did that was at Parking (back when it was worth it) and the state in which the night left me made it extremely difficult to go to work the next day and take calls. If I had some sort of an office job which didn't require me to call or receive calls, I' probably indulge a whole lot more often. :)

Not only that but my subconscious ruins it for me. If I'm out and about, that little voice inside my head always keeps telling me to "not enjoy it too much, you're working tomorrow, boy", voice that strangely sounds like my father. Most of the time, I don't even have to hear it for me not to enjoy a thursday's night out the same as I would, say, a friday night or any other day I'm not working the next day.

Am I old fashioned ? Yes. Is it a royal pain sometimes ? Most definitely. And for the record, it'll take a WHOLE LOT more than that to piss me off (although someone else knows how to push all the right buttons. And no, it ain't my fiancée).

Zeropoint : heh, in case you didn't quite understand my reply in french, I was specifically condoning these practices. All I said was that they've been doing it for years and it's no excuse to keep doing it. I also mentioned that clubs who do it right usually get a much better rep, ergo much more attendance so there's no justification for promoters to do it WRONG.

Unfortunately, it seems all these crappy events aren't driven by the desire to throw an awesome party but to milking clients for all they have.

I mean, honestly, if you go to a restaurant and get piss poor service, you're not going to tip, are you ? And you'll make sure to tell all your friends about it. I know I would. And that's bad for the restaurant's business, right ?

Well, what I DON'T understand is why some club/rave staff/promoters don't even come close to attempting to maintain that level of professionalism.

It's not like it's hard. COUNTLESS other events can pull it off effortlessly, why is it so damn hard for these people to CARE for those that are PAYING ? It's because of those poor people frozen outside that you can throw your event, ungrateful bastards.

A little courtesy and respect goes a fucking long way.

I'm feeling $%? right now..

Hey Fishead. Agreed. And he's still throwing fucking parties. It's like people have a memory of about 10 seconds. Maybe the cold and pig shit fumes kills brain cells...

V2.0: Oops! Yeah, I am learning French so I have to read things a few times to get the full meaning, I suppose I should read more closely. Sorry bout that. Also, I hear you about the Thursday thing. I like to party sort of hard and the Thursday night at parking decimates me for Friday. I've been making the exception for Beat Me Up as it's closer to home so I can stumble back more easily. Also, there is a lot more to ummmmm... see... at beat me up, including the lovely resident or course! =D

I think this sums up 50% of the problem... the other 50% is promoters taking advantage of the first 50%
