i'm very indifferent !

why is that ? you copyright protect the rendered format in witch the product is marketed.

the format is flawd from concept, and my opinion is if you push music sales like drug, your not

in the right buisness and probably owes your pusher/encourage him a little too much.

you never got the point on undersanding that better have people listen to your stuff, than not, you

get much more exposure, and if the product is truly good it will walk the ages, if its a quick cum

shot , then you deserve getting forgotten. if ppl like they will buy or donate.

well, with a name like "digital Vomit" !!??!! it just came accross as sketchy, then with the "most of the DigiVom members are actually degenerate misanthropes." .. i dunno, sound's like an indirect joke to me.

and i do understand the concept behind a collective label as such.

do you know what the word "vomit" means ??

did you know it's another word for PUKE, vomire, degeullez.... basically, it mean's "SHIT" or "crap". isn't "digital Vomit" the name of a label, anyways ? or is it a concept?

and yeah, i've got an attitude of my own, it's called "retaliation".

bahh, anyways, it's a waste. you'll just keep quoting my same reply to keep trying to prove yourself.

Well this is [ rave.ca ] you'd be hard pressed to find a thread that never went OOT.

As for adding to it, you really don't seem the type to enjoy dissenting opinions, so I don't feel like adding to it. Not that it'd be a dissenting opinion in this particular case, but heh.

And look up "deceitful" in a dictionary, I don't think you've got the correct definition.

I dunno... as far Im concerned, from a producers point of view, I think free distro can work for added exposure, as long as the cost of the free exposure actually ends up helping generate revenues for the artist in question... though in my experience, thus far, it has yet to pan out... when I say helping generate revenues, I mean if the exposure can help get the artist booked...

as for pirating muzik, my belief is that pop music should be pirated, thereby watering down an overly supplied and forced market of crap. The vast majority of pop-musicians do not get properly paid by their labels, and only really generate revenue (if they are smart) through tours and merch and advertising contracts, so if they exposure is increased because of illegal trafficking of their tunes without revenue it is not the end of the world and may even cause them to make more money... record sales alone generate probably one fifth of what they used to... and because of the size of the pop market, they will always have the true lovers of pop paying for it...

however, that being said, my general rule of thumb is that I pay for what I believe in or what I use in performances, at least 90% of the time. Those are my ethics, they are by no means "right" or "good", they are just how I navigate the ethics of my own passion and feild... I torrent, I trade and I purchase... not to mention that I give back by posting and linking free downloadable, royalty and copyright free compositions of my own...

Lastly, my favorite example of how stealing or trading muzik online can help the artist, would be dangermouse. When the grey album came out, it was one of the top downloads of '05 (I even downloaded a copy) yet the artist never made a dime off of those millions of downloads, ofcourse, neither did the record companies... to make matters worse, EMI even tried persuing dangermouse because of copyright infringement due to the beatles samples... but, eventually, they signed a contract and the grey album was no longer considered "illegal"... not to mention that dangermouse got some serious acclaim for his work and has not been short of work since...

Acknowledging differing opinions (not facts, that's something else) is not playing a game, you self-centered prick. It's called living in society, with other conscious human beings.

i want u to know that i think matrices should be alowed to shave in an advent of a break, so make copy, but then again, it take the value off the "piece", but i see no art in serialized overbatched copy like cds being restricted for the proper reasons, vinyl i can understand being limited, but as for cds, ,, i dont get it , u buy u scratch u can replace...
