im far from being a thousandaire, even more a millionaire. but i know junk from junk for shure. (speaking of shure i can even repair broken shure's white labels cartridge) i needed thoses because i wanted to enjoy a full spectrum of sound, studio quality, even broadcast. for years i mixed with 1969' brown koss headphone that the bass started at 22+ hz, not even spkrz. i heard stuff that sounded better by some kind of slope processing into the box. but this is raw, they might not be lamps, but they fold 1500W consumption into 800w of sound, one would say they eat too much current and sound shit, i think they sound double, increase precision its like hearing a wooden instrument, the waveform is full, you should see the output on the scope one of a kind... and the number of them i had in my hand with an "open" transitor not short, and still played, for shure they sounded like shit, but once repaired , they take you back to all the shows they ever played the guy who i dealed the speakers told me harmonium played with that kind of stuff, its far from being the best stuff out there, but i did a lot of concessions for theses and months of hard work into and out of these, so the soul is there. i got scared the other day , vlc was at -0db- middle and i cranked a ladyscraper deathchant, at half volume on the amp unbridged it was louder than lots of bar, outdoor shows i heard, ok their only two, but so not as spreaded, but it sounded louder that the tamtam on a 200 player day, etc... i dont want to brag, i want to show that nomatter what the stuff, i should be taken care of if it was once the bomb. |
