Yeah, but imagine how complex that would be? And I haven't read a fraction of all the x-men story arcs/universes/alt.universes. Same pretty much goes for every superhero movie, regardless of publisher.

Hell, purists were giving Jackson a hard time for the LOTD movies, no?
I'm feeling criminal right now..

heh, never read nor saw LOTR =] But ya i know what you mean, and i wouldnt mind the alterations if they didnt follow generic american plot vehicles =p. Like there is nothing different about the xmen movies other than they have xmen in them (from other action movies i mean). The could have watered down the details from original plots easy enough i would think.
I'm feeling gettin more ink soon right now..

Yeah, I was playing devil's advocate on this one, I completely agree with you on those crappy plots ;)

... Crap, guess that makes us geeky comic book purists :)

I might be completely wrong on this but I believe they are making the Wolvie: Origins fit the current Marvel titles (i.e in preparation to the Avengers movie). So it's not exactly going to fit the X-Men movies.

Like The Incredible Hulk doesn't really fit Ang Lee's Hulk.
I'm feeling fretful right now..

Gambit doesnt really fit the time frame though, but i guess they just rolled the dice to see who they'd add in =p

Well, Iron Man doesn't fit his own time frame anyway... Iraq war, pft.

It's better to have Gambit there than to have him with a tiny, underaged Rogue.
I'm feeling fretful right now..

Iron Man keeps getting retconned.. in the current Marvel stuff, he got retconned to his origin happening durring Desert Storm.. How else you gonna explain someone who was in his early 20s durring vietnam still being in his late 20s-early 30s today in 2008?
I'm feeling fucking horny right now..

Wolverine! back when I was a kid for a while I bought X Men and X Factor comics - I had a crazy collection of them. first appearance of Wolverine, first appearance of the new X men, the Hellfire - Phoenix series ... also had Web of Spiderman Coffin series, Dark Knight, Daredevil, Elektra Assassin and the Punisher... but I sold em all during my wayward youth =(

but anyway the very first one I ever bought was Sabretooth VS Wolverine, right when it came out - this one right here - after that I was hooked

I've still got a bunch of the old Marvel Treasury Edition comics, they were huge comics (like, much larger pages) and in them I've got the first Marvel/DC crossover; Spiderman vs. Superman!
I'm feeling fucking horny right now..
