For shame!

I've got a headache and don't feel like explaining this, but I will.

Anarchists take an every man for himself attitude.

Humanist believe in making equal opportunities for everyone. Given that the world is not fair and not all are equal, we must strive to aid those who need help. Taxing the rich to give to the poor is one such way. In an anarchistic society, underprivileged or otherwise lame individuals are left by the wayside, while those who have all the benefits (aka, rich people) continue on. This eventually leads to extremes like a Caste system. Anarchy does not work, there is a reason why we've moved towards government and taxation on a sliding scale, because it's fair and it maintains balance.

Taxes do not make the rich poor, nor do they make the poor poor. If you tax the poor at a higher rate than the rich, all you're doing is stomping on the someone when they're down.

Taking the retarded attitude that poor people should just work harder, completely ignores the fact that most rich people barely do any work at all. Asshats like Donald Trump provide the world with nothing. If that tool died tomorrow, nothing at ALL would change. In fact, if EVERY single person in the top 1% died tomorrow, the world would end up a much better place since those people never actually produced anything nor did they change anything. All the true innovators are not rich, they get used by those with money and power.

You claim that i should shut up because I'm richer than 70% of the world, but it's you who should. I make a lot more than your average 25 year old, yet I'm more than happy to pay 45% of my check to taxes because of the services i get back, and because it helps those who don't make as much as I do. That's me being appreciative of my situation in life; you on the other hand are greedy and want to reap all the benefits and give nothing back.

So, fuck you, and fuck your bullshit ideals

Impressive. I dont agree with all of it, but impressive. As to what I take issue with:

Many of the top 1% do amazing things in and for the world, but its true that a lot of them are idiotic risk takers who got extremely lucky or are living off a dead realitive's money.

And yes, reducing taxes on the poor eases their constraints which is a good things since it makes them better off (Obama). However, the argument could be made, that in addition to tax cuts, incentives in the form of subsidies should be offered to the poor to encourage them to do things they wouldn't otherwise do, but benifit them and society in the long-term (like subsidized education in quebec for instance) which is what McCain proposes (expanding long-run opportunities). Now, if only one of them would offer both.

THe sad thing is that a McCain-Obama ticket would be the best thing that has happened to the USA in a long time and perhaps even the world. But its not going to happen because of stupid partisan politics
I'm feeling :'( right now..
