a) At Eclipse this year I heard: Psytrance, Minimal Techno, Jungle (Mostly super cut up shit, a little ragga-style stuff), Dubstep, Trip Hop, Tabla & Sitar infused Hip Hop/House grooves, Ambient, Progressive/Uplifting Trance, Italo Disco, Pounding Acid Techno, Electro House, Psy Dub, Border Community/Umek/Nathan Fake-style minimal trance/prog cosmic disco shit, Breaks, and some stuff that I can't even begin to fit into a genre because it was just twisting synth rhythms with fucked up drums underneath. b) Just in case you haven't seen it yet, Ishkur's Guide----> [ www.techno.org ] |

 Coolness: 140810 | to be recognized by people out there as an actual style (not just a one time fusion of two styles or a slight variation) I'd say you need to have at least one record label completely dedicated to that one style... and have more than one release ideally

| Coolness: 39505 | Yeah, for a style to be cemented there needs to be some kind of community surrounding it. It isn't a style if you invent it in your mum's basement, ken?
A general rule I've heard is 5 artists and 5 labels as a minimum, but that might be a little stringent. |
