At some point i guess we moved away from the magic of childhood to some topic Im quite unfamiliar with. So ill tread carefully...

While I do get the idea of instilling values in children, its very unfair to make the arguement that people with money instill fewer values than those who have less money. It totally depends on the parents. Low and low-middle income parents can instill really shitty values in their kids as well.

For instance, being from Calgary but no longer living there, I totally see how money changes people. Everytime I go back, you can see it. People think that money makes them hot shit. Its very sad. A wonderful culture has gone down the shitter in 4-6 years...people think theyre cultured cuz they can afford German cars, and that theyre investors because they bought a house thats 2ce the price. They buy more toys, waste money on nothing...its rediculous.
Anyways, the way this relates is because people who already had money, are much the same. So are their kids. Still polite, still know the value of a dollar, still are confident but not cocky, still work hard, still are appreciative of gifts. However, people who have struck it rich in the last 4-6 years...many changed like you wouldnt believe. We're they always that way, and just needed money to show their true colors...or did the money change them? I dunno.
I'm feeling the only rave-waver right now..

Indeed. I want a kid of my own someday abut I'm starting to wonder how hard it'll be when I try to raise them with that mindset and they'll come back home with " yeah but everyone in kindergarden has a Blackberry but me ".

Again, I want to blame the kids for being such bratty greedy little fuckers but I really have to restrain myself not to beat their parents to a goddamn pulp for creating this new " buying things to replace active parenting " fashion.

I mean, if you don't want to raise your kids, why the fuck do you have them to begin with ?

And don't get me started on couples that think having a kid will " ciment " their relationship. You'll fight twice as hard because you never got along to begin with anyway and worse, you'll subject a child to it.

Stupidity is a plague.

Precisely. As much as I or Screwhead or anybody else would like to think it's wrong, it's not gonna prevent these retards from raising their kids this way unfortunately.

That's what saddens me. That, and that part of me that makes me want to rip the head off of any kid that cuts in the bus line after he just got out of the metro station and I've been freezing my nballs out for 15 minutes. These people deserve to fucking die.

I dunno. I just feel sorry them. If thats the way these kids have been brought up, theyre going to be looking for happiness in all the wrong places. And theyre never going to get what happiness and content-ment is really all about.

And thus, they can never really be happy.

Every time I've seen people unplugging shit and installing the Serato box it's taken forever and half the dance floor thinks about leaving. Most places aren't equipped with a four channel mixer either. Plus I've noticed when friends have used Serato that there are a lot of stupid mistakes that happen frequently if there's dirt on the vinyl, and silences. Like people will be in the middle of the set and then the track just stops playing. Why even spin MP3s? The sound quality on most of them is garbage. I have a hell of a time finding tracks at a high enough bitrate.

well that's not everyone bud, if you're a noob it'll happen, but if you make sure everything is set up before the gig, you should have those issues way past you, and silences only happen if you have unfinished garbage mp3's from limewire or even Slsk. I spin 320's and my sets sound fine, and dirt on the needle hardly even causes the record to skip on serato, it's a very stable unit and all the sets I've played on it we're flawless imo.

but to each their own I guess

whatever gets your sound across yo.
if your not finding high enough bitrates...
try BUYING your music.
you will notice that you can not only pick what bitrate you want, but you can even buy your tunes in .wav format with no compression whatsoever.
my only qualms with digital vinyl is that in alot of cases you have to unplug the decks from the back of the mixer in order to plug them into the sound card.
and anyone who plays with vinyl knows that turntables can sometimes be a bit finicky.
i got digital vinyl hooked up to one of my decks at home right now and it does the job fine.
i just personally prefer my cdj in terms of stability and simplicity cuz its rock solid and don't have to click around with a mouse to access effects and set cue points.
but on that note... if the club your playing at has only got 1200's a couple cd players can be a pain in the ass to lug around.

I’m in the process of converting... I love decks, though cdjs do the job, I find serato is slick and easy to use, and I agree, it is a bit of a pain to setup or strike down, but that aside, it is a great transfer from the traditional and my preferred way of mixing chooonz...

As per the bit rate, I find that argument (in my experience) to have little actual impact on audiences, the majority of sound systems in venues (in Montreal) do not offer the kind of listening ambiance that would accentuate a lack of quality in the actual audio, not to mention that most audiences simply would not notice anyways.

If a tune sounds bad on your home system, chances are that it will sound crap on a club system, I find that’s a pretty easy measurement; I’ve actually found 120bit tunes that sound amazing and I think paying for multiple quality options is the way to go for sure, the only way to help the future sound recording industry evolve is by supporting its new and more sensible/available distribution and sale method that it is taking.

Serato will never catch on as long as clubs don't use it as the default standard, and that won't happen, it's just software...

um... i happen to know a number of Djs who are converting or currently using this method, since it is as portable as a normal record case, not that complicated to install, I think clubs have less to do with this phenom then djs do... as long clubs still have decks and a mixer, it could very well become the new standard

It is becoming the new standard, because serato supports WAV's and that IS the industry standard for producers to play out. And like 60% of DJ's prefer the touch of vinyl to a wack ass CDJ.

then spin vinyl for God's sake, instead of emulating it with software...
whatever, I've seen serato and all it accomplishes is to make talentless DJ's think they are the shit

hahahaha.... maybe the dj's are just shit, buddy, its not what you use, its how you use it, and I find you can accomplish as much and more with serato than with tradditional decks and recs...
