my review...

1x Pioneer DJM-400
never tried it... but it doesn't look like something i would buy.
2 channel mixers are usually aimed at scratch dj's and this mixer doesn't offer a square fader curve.
even with all the bells and whistles on it i don't think there is anything there that can justify the price.
alot of ppl love pioneer mixers but personaly i can't stand them.
i'd much sooner put my money in the hands of allen & heath or ekler.
but if i absolutely had to buy pioneer i wouldn't get anything less than the 600.

2x Pioneer CDJ-400
i got really exited when i heard about these and the features are indeed awesome (in some ways more advanced than the 800's).
when i finally got a chance to play around on them i was a little disappointed though...
i personally prefer the feel of the 800's and found the jog wheel a little bit cheesy feeling on the 400.
not a bad purchase if your playing c.d.'s but i've heard a lot of ppl are getting crashes when using the usb jack.
wouldn't be my first choice for a c.d. player...
but if you like em... go for it.

2x speakers Edirol MA-15DBK Digital Stereo Micro Monitors
i have a pair of these on my computer... they work and made a fine budget solution for my need, but they are not something that you are gunna wanna keep for awhile and even though they are very bassy... the bass tends to sound really funny.
i personaly would never dj with them... but i'm sure they can do the job if you put them at the right height and aren't using them outside your bedroom.

1x AKG K181 headphones
these i wouldn't buy at all.
if you're gigging in clubs you really aren't gunna hear much difference in sound quality that expensive headphones offer.
as long as they are loud and have a good kick to them it really doesn't matter.
not to mention dj headphones are something thats eventually going to have to be replaced no matter how much you spend.
my recomendation would be to spend a little less on the headphones and a little more on speakers.
stanton dj pro 2000's are mad cheap (around 90$) and really good, just don't get the 3000 models because the are complete trash.

my 2 cents.
I'm feeling republican right now..

True!
Been 6 months since I'm using these and it's really good for this price.
Cost 100 bucks with all the taxes.
I'm feeling techy techy right now..

yeah the A&H mixers are absolutely amazing, you really can't go wrong with 'em..

And for the headphones, the Stanton 2000s are some of the best you can get.. not the 3000s though, they aren't really comfortable, and if you're gonna have them on your ears a lot, it's a consideration..
I'm feeling the no pussy blues right now..

the headphones? I think they shouldn't be more than 100$ before tax, probably closer to 80-90$

Audio technica's are good too.
i find the stantons pack a lot more punch though.
but it's really a matter of preference.
audio technica's seem a little more delicate than the stantons but are much less draining on your ears.
which is good if your gunna use them for other things as well.
the stantons have more kick to them, which comes in really handy in a loud dj booth, but if your using them for other stuff (like listening to beats on your computer or ipod) they will make you're ears really tired really fast.
the stantons also have a switch on the side that switches stereo to mono which has come in really handy for me over the years as well.
i can't tell you the lifespan of audio technica's, but i've had my stantons have stantons for over 5 years now.
they have been dropped, stepped on, drenched in beer and look like taped up dog toys now.
up until last month i was convinced they were completely indestructible but unfortunately the right side finally kicked on me.
i could probably fix them if i really wanted to... but i think they have done their time.
i'm definitely gunna buy them again.

as far as the xone 42 mr. wood...
its really new and i haven't played on it yet...
but it looks like the BOMB and if it's build and sound are anything like the rest of the xone family i can pretty much guarantee your satisfaction.
I'm feeling republican right now..

the stantons also have one thing that I don't think many other headphones have, and that's a replacable cord.. Most headphones, if your cord dies, you need to get new headphones. With the stantons, if your cord dies, you unplug it (there's a minijack in the earpiece) and get a replacement for like 15-20$
