The worst poutine I've had happened when I tried to find sauce in North Florida and the closest thing I could find was three peppers GRAVY.

It was chunky, disgusting. With bits of American mozzarella. It was so awful.

NO!!!! ^ that is actually very very funny! WHERE in florida exactly did you get your poutine? hahaha because when i was kid we visited some richard family near fort lauderdale! and the dude have a quebecer restaurant..must be around 87/ i think he still has the place.. was to young to remember their poutine.. i should ask my dad! haha yeah anyway quebecois totally invaded that place so i suppose the recipe have spread.. it sound so cheap and cheezy but even after few travels in europe and south america. florida is a special place to my heart because beautiful childhood memories but also my dear grand-papa die there in 92. :(

I lived in North Florida for a couple years. Around Jacksonville's Naval Base area (NASJAX, so big it has its own weather zone on the TV). Fun times, great southern food (what with being about two hours away from Georgia), bad attempts at poutine.

Is Jacksonville fun? Christ. Erhm. No? It's very calm. You have to understand that 90% of all American military personel will live that at one moment (either in the barracks or eventually end up there). It's where they store the aircraft carriers.

This said, it was the birth place of Limp Bizkit so believe me, IT PLAYED EVERYDAY, EVERYWHERE.

This said, I love southern food. REAL southern food and not "friend stuff" is pretty close to our Quebecois meals, complete with sheppard's pie, meatloaves and whatnot. Only, add grits and collard greens. Grits feels like a mix between couscous and bread. It's delicious.

The thanksgiving feast lasts a long time and will give you a heart attack. No wonder I gained a hundred pounds while I lived there :P I was so obese.

HAHAHA ! That place is awesome!
It's a "foreign food" restaurant in Shanghai!!!
I went there with a chinese girl on my team when I was there (I went there to do training) and we ordered 3 dish, a lazagna, quesadillas, and a Poutine.

We split the 3 dish so that she could taste everything... and she LOVED the poutine... almost ate it all to herself !!!

But seriously, not bad for a foreign poutine... except the cheeze... but the sauce and fries where great :D

I blogged about this a while ago but if you go to Rapido and order pogos with fries from that old blond waitress, she will ridicule you for your "weird" order. When I asked her what was so weird about ordering pogos with fries, she simply replied: people usually order poutine with pogos. ... uh?
I'm feeling assaulting the world right now..
