No... I had A BLAST. The music was everywhere between great and out-of-your-fucking-mind-fantastic... I mean, I have raved in my life, but mostly before that electro stuff... Damn. I mean *DAMN*!!!! There were some very nice people too! A chillroom would have been nice. Harder sound too. But those are truly minor things compared to the goodness of the whole thing. Props to the promoters and organizers, this was surely the most fun new year's eve in Montreal. 9.5/10. ADDED: Now how the hell do you get to trip out better than that? Where to now? How on earth do you get a better musical experience than that? Ph34r... |

Je l'attendais en maudit celui-là et je n'ai pas été déçu!!! André, Kalan, je vous l'ai dit en personne mais comme les écrits restent... CE FUT VRAIMENT UN PARTY INCROYABLEMENT FANTASTIQUE!!!! Ça nous en prend un autre comme ça l'année prochaine! (avec le coat check en haut, hein André!! Remplit les bons ti-papiers là! lol) 2 salles, électro et psy, c'est tellement une formule gagnante quand vous faites affaires avec des artistes d'aussi grande qualité! Oh et puis pour ceux qui ne le savent pas encore, si vous avez aimé, que dis-je... capoté sur ce party, et bien vous ne voudrez sûrement pas manquer SUGR 2 : Même endroit, même concept, même genre musical... ça va être franchement débile!!! On se voit là-bas!!! First off..An infinitely massive thanks to everyone who helped out from months before to the days after, I can’t even begin to name names there were so many people involved who helped make this possible and I really wouldn’t want to erroneously forget a single one of you! THANK YOU ALL!!! We could have never done it without you!
Thanks for all the warming comments, it’s a big part of what keeps us going every year. I’m stoked to hear that most everyone had a great time. The vibe was so incredible all night long. As tired as I was, it kept me going to the very end. I managed to have a few interesting conversations with a few people regardless of the chaos but most were cut short due to the circumstances, for this I must apologise and I can only hope to see you all again soon and take it from where we left off! A big thanks and an even bigger thumbs up to all our local talent.. You were all Unbelievable! Although I didn’t get to enjoy as much of your sets as I would have liked I could tell just by the vibe in the rooms that you were all nailing it.. I’m really proud of you as you should be of yourselves for what we accomplished here as a group. Hopefully in the near future we’ll get to do this again sometime and maybe Ill get to enjoy it as first hand as I would have liked. I’ve noticed throughout the comments posted on various forums there is still a lot of things we can improve on and I would like to kick off next years Soma 2009 by opening a suggestions thread here: [ www.rave.ca ] Feel free to make any suggestions you see fit or post any observations you might have had that would help make Soma a better experience all round as well as any artists/djs you might like to see!  Coolness: 77130 | Great experience as ever ,cleaver concept whit some of the most killer Djs in town ,asthonishing deco whit mind blazing screens,lights,ambiance .Everything was off the hook , and i couldnt ask for a better place to be for new years ever,

I would have definitely liked it to have a little somewhere to chill down on more break, tribal, ethnic, space, DnB,etc. music. I personally really like the concept of main/chill rooms, witch I missed alot on that night. Two thumbs up for everyone anyway, and a very special mention to DOROBO who ended the night with some Dubstep, was great ! |
