| because a normal person isn't used to having a ton of energy like a stimulant gives, whereas the person with ADHD is used to having all the energy and no way to focus it on anything.
It's also got to do a lot with your mindset on things, as with any drug. The person with ADHD taking ritalin is taking it because they want to get better and get more focus. The person who doesn't need it is just doing it to get high, and the "high mentality" follows along with it. |

| so...it's just maybe...possible...that as opposed to 'mindset' it might actually be chemical reactions in the brain (since a positive mindset is just having a higher level of 'positive chemical' in the brain, a natually occuring rush)..... so Ritalin 'could' increase production of Dopamine....ir would be fairly safe to say that.... |

| What Catzgurl is trying to point out is this; A drug used to treat symptoms of a disorder in one person can sometimes cause those same symptoms in person who doesnt have that disorder. For example, Ritalin can sometimes cause the inability to focus in a person who doesnt have ADD or ADHD. This is known to happen with some antipsychotic medications as well; a person who doesnt have schizophrenia who takes Risperidal for example can sometimes hear voices or have other symptoms from taking that drug. Weird but true! |

| I remember one guy at my gym about 4-5 years ago had some of these pills (legit in a sealed bottle) called Piracetam. These were for alzheimer and Down's syndrome patients. Thought it was snake oil as usual lol until just for the sake of it I had one of these.... all I could do was read, read and read non stop. Couldnt just sit my ass and do nothing. |
