My RCA Lyra died yesterday for au unknown reason. That little crap was bugging too often anyway. Do you know a mp3 player that has radio, voice recording and that starts the track where it was when you shut it down?

i bought my first mp3 player on boxing day. I had been using my psp for the last year and it sucks for mp3's (anyone wanna buy a psp? :D)
Anyway, it s a sansa e280 - 8 gig. for 120$ at future shop. So far seems fine to me - i bought it cause there's a memory slot in it, so 12G pretty much suits my needs for the moment.

the PSP is the best thing ever, especially with the hacked custom firmware.. No need to pay for games, plus all the homebrew software for it.. And it's not that bad as an MP3 player, either, as long as you've got the extra remote to change tracks/volume without taking it out..

I got the Samsung YP-K3 for christmas and it is sweet :) it's super slim and has great sound quality. Only 2 gigs though, but that's plenty for me.

the sansa is awesome, i've had the 6 gig for a bit over 2 months and i can't complain. it has videos, fm radio, recorder, MP3, drag and drop (ya FUCK YOU ITUNES!!!!!!!) and a micro sd slot. the sound is pretty good too
the bad things i've noticed about it, are if you try to turn it on while the lock key is on it freezes, if you attach it to an amp to play it on a sound system it makes a click sound everytime it changes song and the equaliser for music is sorta generic all i gotta say is screw ipods and psps!!
I'm feeling battery operated right now.. |

sure, it's got no FM tuner, but when's the last time you saw an MP3 player that you could use to DJ with without requiring any aditional hardware like the iDJ? And if you're sitting bored on the metro, can you just pick up your MP3 player and play some Genesis, SNES, NES, GBA games? PSP FTW!

I have a Cowon D2 4Gb, which has a slot for adding another SD card of up to 8Gb (16Gb eventually).
Of course, it is above $200 mostly, but it has a beautiful color touch-screen, great software, every possible setting and feature you could possibly imagine or wish, incredible battery life and of course, the best sound quality ever. If you can afford it, I highly recommend it. In my last shopping spree, I saw it cheapest at [ NCIX.com ] for like $198 + tx + ext wty + shipping... It is an amazing PMP.
I'm feeling sooooomaaaaaaaaaaa right now.. |

PSP FTW! totally agree. i love the fact that i can play games, listening to music, watch movies, check pictures, go on the internet with only one object. its fucking cool. And it has a really good quality screen with a decent size( not like the new ipods nano)

hahaha the ipod nano is a joke!
and ever since what I read about how apple threatened the guy that runs the Fake Steve Jobs site, and how totally corrupt they seem to be, there's no way I'd ever support their products anymore.

There's diffrent ways.. The most common one (for the older PSPs) involves games that have an exploit, usually it's involving a save-game that's been edited to quit the game and run a program not made by sony, and from there you install a hacked version of the operating system. The 2 main games for this are the original GTA: Liberty City Stories (the first release, not the 2nd "re-press", they fixed the code) or Lumines..
The new version requires an extra battery and a memory stick, and an already-hacked PSP to convert the battery.. Essentially you modify the serial number of the battery's hardware so that the PSP thinks it's a sony un-bricking tool, and it auto-runs the software on the memory stick, which in this case is an installer for the hacked sony OS you can find out more about it on this board, I just don't remember what section exactly: [ forums.qj.net ]
