| I work at a music distributor and I see a lot of promos from independent labels and they are all on cds. They use internet based stuff to supplement it though. But they use cds for stores, distributors, etc... Some of the labels are huge and some are run from people's basements (some are just bands who are their own label). Nearly all of them are not from Quebec.
Also the packaging is important, ugly looking demos usually get used as coasters. |

| still doesn't warrant buying a cd burning machine. Not to mention they don't do a very good job. If you really have to "cold call" send cds to labels , you arent doing something right. |

| i heard you can make a cool laser that can burn with a DVD BURNER ! imagine 10 :D oh shit u said cd burner? fuck that ! maybe you could sequence them to open one after another and close to make some kind of kickass lavalamp :D |

| It's gotta be a 16x dual layer DVD burner.. Anything less than that and the laser is just radiation and invisible to the eye, and it'll fry your retine if you just look in the direction of the beam..
What I want to do is take like 9 of those DVD lasers and put them close together in a flashlight.. I'm sure you could easily pop tires in a second or 2 with that. |

| lets make it a ghetto science project :D im in ! im gonna try to start finding broken dvd burner i think we have a couple at work and im not joking they usually throw it out the garbages so im prolly going to be able to snatch a few! man this project will be fun :D
im gonna bring it to a tennis match and try to fry the ball in mid-air :D |

| Remember though, it HAS to be 16x dual layer burners! Anything less than that and you will go blind, as they won't emit a visible laser, just radiation that will cook your optic nerve if you just look in the direction of it! |

| well this is a 1 to 10 DVD burner.. DVDs are still useful if you want to distribute video work.. Better than putting 800+ mb videos on the net. |
