 Coolness: 131740 | I don't know much about music production nor do i have any talent with any insturment (except for flute which i've done in second year of high skool) but having a band seems more appealing fro me than sitting in front of my computer and doing everything by myself
but i do agree on the point that having a scheduele made, regular pratices, having a good relationship with the band members etcetc is hard and probably doesn't work out all the time... ps: ... and ill make sure nobody gets in my pants ... no worrys with that!!

ive done collabs with artist and i gotta say there is a lot of compromising involved. i can just imagine if this is YOUR idea, just how much compromising there is. things can get butchered easily and tempers flair over creativity. thats why i mention to just get started alone and slowing get others involved with time , as it shapes up. esp if its eurodance... you can easily write the bits yourself and learn the in's and out's of the style. it still takes years to learn that. ya get up to the standard and once you're there, you can start going outside the box. |

| Coolness: 44445 | Well you gotta take music seriously if you want to be really known on a professional level . Learning production isn't always fun and the business aspect & promoting isn't much fun either :P Theres also the sacrifices of not partying your ass off and getting stuff done production wise instead (ive dealt with that problem with tones of female vocalist)
It becomes a lil bitter/sweet when you take a music career seriously in electronica...Especially when you've done over 100 tracks in the genre you're studying to perfect. Thinking outside the box is fun as hell but it can also be hard. Writers block is a bitch too :P |

| Coolness: 201275 | I've done some collabs with people and the main problem I've noticed, especially with singers, is that they have a hard time keeping to a schedule when I am working on a song.. For instance, I work during the week, that means I only have evenings and weekends available.. Weekends are preferable. If you are doing a recording session on a sunday, you can't go out the saturday before, otherwise your voice gets fucked. So if I'm half done a song and then the singer doesn't show up on the sunday we were going to finish everything cause they are hungover, I get pissed and move to another project. That's happened way too many times.
Now on the other hand, I recorded 10 songs for an electro group last year and they always showed up to each session, or would at least give me some advance notice. This was also a paying gig (although it wasn't a ton), so it was serious. It took a long time just to record vocals to songs and mix them, I didn't even work on the music it was their own. So the lesson is: if you are serious about recording music, you might have to put other parts of your life on hold. This is especially true if you are a singer. If you are working with other people, you need to be very disciplined, because they are depending on you and vice-versa. |

...everybody seriously thank you for ur advice... but ill say it another time... i might be young but i know alot on music industry, i have a lot of experience, i know how u need to be serious and stuff...and i am! i did this thread to find musician... and u guys are all on i dunno what!! ill take everything u guys said and take the advice i think were the best for me and put it in my way. Maybe you think its better when you do just one thing... ok... not me! cause im different! |
