 Coolness: 86970 | No doubt afterhours do good stuff once in a while, attract lot of people, who have lots of fun in there, but to me, an afterhour is nothing more than a club that's open a bit later. I'm not usually bitching them, got a bit overzealous, but I sure wanted to imply that it has nothing to do with a rave. Crowd is different, music is different, the vibe is a lot different also ...
I like clubbing once in a while, but clubbing and raving are two different things, and going to afterhours is clubbing, and has nothing to do with raving. The whole point of this war is because those clubs see raves has competition. Techtonic had Techno and trance music ... got shut down by a guy who thought we were competing with his night. Don't get me wrong, I do like those kind of music, but it probably was one of the main reason the rave got shut down nonetheless. Even more, Techtonic was supposed to sell booze until 3, which until recently was unique to night clubs. It now brings people out of the clubs and bring them into raves, and club managers don't like that. In my opinion, there would not be that much problems if the raves kept on raving, and the clubs kept on clubbing. Live and let live. You want to get drunk for a rave ? That's what clubs and pre-parties are made for. Want to dance all night to underground music ? Now that's what raves are made for ! When I say boycott their clubs, I mean that if you like raves better, let them know that raves and afterhours don't attract the same crowd by not going at their nights. |
