Then again there's an interesting theory by Peirs Anthony. He thinks that since we are instinctually attracted to whomever has the best chances of survival that if we have a lot of food as a society we will find skinny people more attractive but that if food was hard to come by we'd find fat people more attractive since they would be the ones with the best chances of survival and best genes in those times.
