[ video.google.com ] The guy in that video was found strangled to death in a hotel room two days after giving the speech. The death was listed "suspicious" and possibly suicidal but speculations refuse to acknowledge the probability of foul play involving conspiracy to commit murder. |

 Coolness: 92305 | the root of the problem is not the objects we posses or the action of aquiring them but our will to posses them. If it is not destroyed from the root it is never destroyed. I think of it kind of like if your kid has behavioural problems lets say and he keeps beating up kids at school or getting beat up, would you keep him out of school so that he could avoid those problems or would you make him keep going until he learns to deal with it? If you keep him out of school cause of his horrid social skills he'll never learn any and will face related problems later in life. If you took all the guns away and force society away from them than we will not be prepared to deal with them if they should ever fall in our hands again and they would. |

If someone came at me with a knife I'd have a MUCH better chance of surviving the attack than if someone pointed a gun at my face.. The thing with guns is that it doesn't take ANY special ability to use one. You could put a gun in the hands of a 3 year old and it would be just as fatal as in the hand of a soldier with years of training. Put a knife in a 3 year old's hand and suddenly you've got pretty much no chance of even being injured. Guns put too much power in the hands of the holder. Theres no way you'd hear about 20 people being severely by some rogue knife-weilding maniac.. all it would take is 2 or 3 guys armed with chairs to stop the guy.. not so with a gun. The only thing that can stop someone with a gun is A) Kevlar B) having a gun yourself an shooting him first. So, if people have guns, the only way to protect yourself is to.. have a gun yourself.. EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE A GUN! Outlaw just means push aside. Saying that outlawing something will work is ridiculous. It will just create a black market and there is no justice in the black market, that is where most of the gun violence is in the first place. But in this case and the case of drugs the law does make things worse, it creates problems that didn't exist before that are a lot worse than the ones they're trying to fix. Shit hits the fan sometimes, it's as if we forget that. This didn't happen because guns were legal. This happened becuase guns were invented. You can do anything with the existence of guns that you want, it won't stop this from happening sometimes. Most people killed in Rwanda were sliced to peices with maschetes.. they didn't need guns because they had strategy, a few people were able to kill thousands easily just by gaining their trust and confining them. A sword is a really good weapon against nothing as well. Guns are only so effective becuase we don't all have guns and swords could be effective because we don't all have swords. Guns didn't replace knives, they replaced swords. I think it would be a lot more painful to die from a swrod. |

For a very long time it was a proudly advertised fact that cops in England didn't carry handguns because they didn't need them. The idea that just 'because the gun was invented we can't outlaw it' is insane. Anthrax exsits, should i be allowed to walk around with a vile of it.... you know, for self denfense? How about grenades, I'd like to walk around with grenades everywhere i go. Maybe a flame thrower, or a tank, yeah, i wanna be able to own a tank and drive it around downtown. The reality is this, the second you allow anyone to have powerful weapons like guns.. it's an arms race for everyone who wants to remain safe. Those that don't want to take part in the arms race end up being the most defenseless and that's one shitty fucking deal since the vast majority don't want to take part. Even in the US where everyone supposedly loves guns there's about 83 guns to every 100 people. Keeping in mind that a lot of gun owners have more than one gun that means more than half the population doesn't have a gun. Do you think they don't have guns cause they want them? have you ever met someone who owns a real sword and actually knows how to use it? I bet i could disarm someone with a sword with a firehose, hell if i had a couple of big rocks i could probably do it. I wouldn't be able to do that with a gun. |
