| It's not possible with bell. I have a bell phone also and if I loose it no one else can use it cause it uses some newer network where your SN or phone number is built right into the phone, once it's reported stolen only that person can undo it. |

| the programs are for unlocking things inside the phone, like test modes and scanners that are normaly not available to the public, and I guess you might be able to get it running if you clone someone else's phone, but that's about all I can think.. |

Did you not read my post? The only way to get use out of that phone is to have someone inside the originating service provider remove that particular phone from the lost/stolen database. So, if the phone came through fido, you need to have someone at fido do it, if it came from telus, rogers, etc..

| Most stores that sell gsm phones will unlock them for about 25-30$...technically they're not supposed to but most people don't care about the legal semantics I'd try one of the rogers stores like Planete Mobile first and if they refuse to do it tell them you're gonna sign up with their competition and chances are they'll cave in and do it for ya. |

| there's no legal implications of unlocking a phone.
my friend works at a cellphone store and happily unlocks phones for anyone that asks.
that said, unlocking a phone only means you can use the phone with any carrier.. this doesn't let you use stolen/lost phones,. |
