Frogland Breakers in colaboration with Electro-Destructo are proud to present the first of a series of monthly "electro-breaks" events. our concept is to showcase musical talent that goes against the grain of the genres they conform to. we've assembled an international team of electro-breakbeat assasins to touch down at kunta this friday for a explicit display of electro breakbeat ANARCHY!!! and to make thing that much more interesting for our first event... we've givin all the dj's on this superstar roster a theme to play by, and that theme is... ROCK N ROLL BABY!!! so break out your metallica tees, rip your jeans and trim your mullets for an ELECTRONICLY TWISTED ROCK SHOW!!! heres the superstar dj line up... DJ RUE (chicago/ mtl) SICKPUPPY (N.Y./ astratralia) KAI MURDOCK and oh yeah... its also eldar and melodies birthday party!!! are you referring to some sort of hybrid form of modern electro and nuskool breaks? or are you referring to an existing body of producers who, in the late 80s and early 90s, first called their music electro: such as aux 88, juan atkins, electromorph, dave clark or the advent... when the word 'electro' began, by the late 90s, to refer to an entirely different set of standards, the former sound became known as "electro-breaks" for some reason, and now includes such active labels and artists as Electrix, I-T Transimissions, Sons of Slough, etc... i think the lineup is good but you're ascribing yet another definition to a word, "electrobreaks", which has already been raped enough over the years. |

i for one have a huge love for old electro funk, miami bass and electro clash on top of my obvious love for nu skool breaks. sick puppy has made quite a rep for himself as an electro house dj who coincedentaly drops pretty heavy breaks. rue's just a fuckin' freak show who mashes electro, dnb, breaks and chicago house in a seamless fashion. as far as kai he's pretty much a straight up breaks dj who i just like to jam with... me and kais set is more than likely going to be on the rock breaks tip... and i got feeling that rue rue and the puppy dog got some dirty dirty tricks up their sleeves. we plan throwing partys to cover all of the vast "electo specrum" in the future and wanna do so with our own twisted flavor... if it so happens to not properly conform with the dictonary definitions of electro that have been changed more times than a newborns diapers.... then thats just too bloody bad!!! (hence the "destructo";o) anyway... if you got some ideas to throw around at us, this concept is still ababy and we alway love hearing from you!! cheers!! hope to see you on friday!! |
