and havin the platter stopped, then put an old "middle" , you know that cardboard thing, of a duct tape, having it 2" (inch) wide is a necessity, on this cylinder on the middle of your table you put a record , so you align platter; duct tape roll; and the vinyl of your favorite chistian band, then with the PARKED arm you take the weight to it outtermost edge (not off) and unscrew the needle put it upside down screw it back unto its inverted new position, dont worry it will fit trust me, then take the arm rest lock off the needle floats in the air, then you take your needle and put it to the end (or after your favorite part) on the bottom part of the vinyl at this time the needle should point up, on a groove on the bottom of the vinyl that you prout on a duct tape roll on your sl-1200 . so. you press play so the record will read you vinyl backward from back to end when you will press play - that or wind it back (wawa-wawa) cutterhead Update » cutterhead wrote on Fri Jan 12, 2007 @ 3:32am no really that shit works! alex-t my man where are u? don't know how you normally run the 33/45 trick... but... if you want to jump from techno to drum'n'bass... get 33rpm techno record and a 45rpm drum'n'bass record (genres are just for example)... cue up the d'n'b record at 33rpm... once it's matched, switch it 45rpm and let it sit. kill the power on the techno record, then switch it back on. The drive won't engage until you slap start/stop (assuming you're using a techniques deck)... gradually work the record up to about 45rpm by hand... once it's there, hit start/stop to engage... you can drop the other record into the mix right away because it's already matched up. |

damn nice trick out of an sl1.2k, i have retro gear that prevent me of doing soo here crap... a real trick (not that the tape didnt work, just isnt pratical in this day'nage) to conditionise my brain as complete duality, i would randomly switch the wires on my inputs, so faders location on the mixer doesnt reflect the setup; ie : you have table A on left B on right, normally fader on left is tt a and right is b, this trick is more fun on more than two, or with cd dj hookup fuckup is fun too nyways addd up tt A to input B , cd b on input B , ttb on ch 3 cd a on ch 4 etc... so u get use out of u new reverse setup, and when ur at ease, u switch it back, again and again its funny how i got pissed each time i down the wrong one LOLL , and found unexpected trick as soo, enjoy neko Update » cutterhead wrote on Thu Jan 18, 2007 @ 2:57am OH and by the way, for your engineers over there,
