it sort of lost its focus on that element when it became an olympic sport yknow trying to score points... instead of always going for a submission bjj guys can develope 'Gi habits' and although the 'advantages' you try score in bjj tournament are still for points... they apply to realistic situations anyways. example: getting the mount, getting someones back, ect. a bunch of judo blackbelts from Nakamuras school (west island it think) are all training Bjj at Gamma now where i train downtown. haven't trained jujitsu (submission wrestling whatever) more than 3 months, on and off, myself if you guys are serious about a little sweaty chessmatch of technical cuddling i know a few guys that fight here [ www.submissionfight.com ] its someone ideas of an amateur submission wrestling league here in montreal |

I think it'd be way more fun to arrange throw downs in nice public areas like the metro or les ailes or some thing. People react unpredictably when pride comes into play in public mash-ups. Also, it would be fun to film. |
